Michael Riedel of the New York Post wrote an article voicing his concerns about the costuming of the upcoming revival of When Pigs Fly. Riedel looked back fondly on the original production, which opened in 1996 and was on of the longest running off-Broadway shows of its era.

Howard Crabtree, who wrote the show, designed the costumes, which were known for being "outlandish, witty, and gay (in both senses of the word)." The costumes won several awards during the play's original run.

This fall, When Pigs Fly will be revived off-Broadway by Joshua Goodman, one of the producers of "Come From Away." One of the original writers, Mark Waldrop, will be directing. However, Crabtree passed away shortly before the original production went into previews, so he will not be designing the costumes.

The iconic Bob Mackie, who has designed costumes for Liza Minnelli, Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah Winfrey, and more, is set to create the new outfits for this production. Mackie is known for witty costumes, so it seems as though this project will be a good fit for him.
