Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, presents the American screwball comedy His Girl Friday, John Guare's adaptation of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's original play The Front Page and the screen version His Girl Friday, from tonight, August 6, through August 30 at Barrington Stage's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage. Opening night is Wednesday, August 12 at 7pm.

In its California premiere The Fabulous Lipitones by John Markus and Mark St. Germain sounds like a silly promo for an overrated sexual enhancement product and with its initially corny lines could easily fall into the category of 'sitcom onstage' comedy, but thank heavens it rises far above and beyond. Lipitones is a deliciously funny and substantially reflective take on what might happen if a traditional barbershop quartet inducted a culturally un...suitable replacement. Following the sold-out success of My Name is Asher Lev, Penguin Rep Theatre continues its 2015 season - the Rockland County-based professional company's 38th -- with Becoming Dr. Ruth, a play by Mark St. Germain. Directed by Stephen Nachamie, Becoming Dr. Ruth will be performed August 14 through September 6 in Stony Point, New York.

The Colony Theatre is thrilled to present the first production of its 41st season, the California Premiere of THE FABULOUS LIPITONES by John Markus and Mark St. Germain, directed by John Markus, with Musical Direction by Sam Kriger and Choreography by Murphy Cross. THE FABULOUS LIPITONES will preview on Wednesday, July 22; Thursday, July 23; and Friday, July 24 at 8:00pm. It will open on Saturday, July 25 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, August 23.

On June 10, Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) held its annual Mainstage Season Preview in the scenic courtyard at Volt Restaurant in historic downtown Frederick, Maryland.  The evening was a great success with a packed house enjoying cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and perfect early summer evening weather as they took in a sneak peak at MET's upcoming offerings.  

Maryland Ensemble Theatre has announced its 2015-2016 Mainstage season. MET's 18th Mainstage season will run from September of 2015 through June of 2016 and will feature a cheeky English comedy, an original twist on a horror classic, a traditional holiday musical, and contemporary crowd pleasers.
