Rebecca Naomi Jones and Tracy Jai Edwards Lead EXTRACTION Reading, 6/13

Broadway and Off-Broadway producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) will present Catie O'Keefe's Extraction as the sixth selection in THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES, for readings of new works (plays and/or musicals), on Monday, June 13th at the Davenport Studio (250 West 49th Street, Suite 302, NYC).

OKLAHOMO: THE ADVENTURES OF DAVE AND GARY Featured in NYMF 2010

Oklahomo is a new rock musical comedy satire that chronicles the journey of Dave and Gary, two Midwestern mall food court employees who are also partners in love (and eventually justice). Dave's life-long dreams of becoming a superhero finally come true after a freak accident involving Superman, an overdose of hallucinogenic drugs, a port-a-potty and a Journey concert. From there, Dave and Gary embark on an epic adventure of revenge and love, of discrimination and acceptance, and ultimately the most magnificent superpower ever created. With Book, Music and Lyrics by Jesse Gage and direction by Mark Robinson. Choreography by Marcos Santana ('In the Heights'). The cast of Oklahomo: The Adventures of Dave and Gary includes Philip Jackson Smith as Dave, Matt Welch as Gary, Jared Weiss as Brady, Josh Ramos as Ru, Nathan Lehmann as Jack and Everyone Else, Lisa Mindelle as Lil and Everyone Else, Corey Johnson as Thug and Everyone Else and Ryan Goodale as Thug and Everyone Else. Performances will be Thursday, October 14th at 10:30 PM; Friday, October 15th at 11:00 PM; and Saturday, October 16th at 10:30 PM at Urban Stages, 259 West 30th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues). AMERICAN IDIOT Garners 12 SF Critics Circle Noms.

This year's Critics Circle Awards, sponsored by Actor's Equity Association, today announced is nominees for excellence in San Francisco Bay area theater. Berkeley Rep's production of American Idiot, which played in the fall of 2009, leads with 12 nominations and will open on Broadway this spring.
