A world premiere, Shakespeare favourites, household comedy names and top musical entertainment will kick-start the new Spring Season in style at Liverpool's Epstein Theatre. There's a packed programme of top entertainment planned to take audiences through the coming months.
Mark Moraghan, Stephanie Dooley and Alan Stocks have been confirmed to join the cast of Lennon's Banjo, joining fellow actors Eric Potts, Jake Abraham, Lynn Francis and Roy Carruthers in a comedy play that is already making headlines around the world. Former Beatles drummer, Pete Best, is to play himself in a brand new comedy stage production called, Lennon's Banjo. Written by Rob Fennah, the show is about a quest to find the holy grail of pop memorabilia - the first instrument John Lennon learned to play which has been missing for 60 years and now worth millions to whoever finds it.
The one night only intimate concert will take place tonight, October 14th and features an array of West End performers including Alexander Hanson (Stephen Ward, Jesus Christ Superstar), Sabrina Aloueche (Les Miserables, We Will Rock You), Nadim Naaman (Phantom Of The Opera, One Man, Two Guvnors), Rebecca Caine (Phantom Of The Opera), Mark Moraghan (Priscilla Queen of The Desert), Chloe Hart (Hairspray, Wicked) and many other special guests.
The married, song-writing duo Laura and Dan Curtis has had an exciting past year of work, which isn't slowing down anytime soon. Ray Meagher, best known on television for playing Alf Stewart in the long running Australian soap Home and Away, will re join the West End cast of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical as mechanic Bob from 5 October 2011, following his hugely successful run in the show last year. With booking now open at the Palace Theatre until 7 January 2012, Meagher joins Don Gallagher (Bernadette), Richard Grieve (Tick) and Oliver Thornton (Adam) in the internationally award-winning musical at the Palace Theatre.
According to Whatsonstage.com, Priscilla Queen of the Desert might finish its West End run at the end of December 2011. A publicist for the show told Whatsonstage, 'The producers of Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical made the decision today to inform the London cast and crew of the likelihood that the show would end its three-year run in the West End at the end of 2011. No formal notice has been given.'
