Ridley Creek Productions is presenting a staged reading of a play about one man's struggle to fight in an era more unpredictable and more brutal than our own.

The weather was gorgeous, the traffic was more 'meh' than usual, and I was able to not only find a parking spot in Long Island City, but also successfully parallel park in said parking spot. Living in the suburbs of Long Island my entire life, this was a pretty big deal: leading up to my arrival at the Chain Theatre for Variations Theatre Group's production of 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' by Dale Wasserman - based on the novel by Ken Kesey, which also inspired the five-time Academy Award-winning film.

Variations Theatre Group will present Dale Wasserman's ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, opening on April 10, 2015 at The Chain Theatre.

Variations Theatre Group's critically acclaimed production of Eric Bogosian's TALK RADIO will conclude its limited engagement tomorrow night (Saturday) at the Chain Theatre. Inspired by the 1984 murder of controversial shock jock Alan Berg, TALK RADIO is set in a Cleveland radio station over the course of Barry Champlain's two-hour broadcast as he's being scrutinized that night by producers fixated on taking the show national, and fueled as always by coffee, cocaine and Jack Daniel's. Barry's jousts with his unseen callers-ranging from a white supremacist to a woman obsessed with her garbage disposal-are interspersed with confrontations by his ex-deejay pal and his sometime girlfriend/producer.

Barbara Rosenblat, who plays the cancer-stricken inmate Miss Rosa on "Orange is the New Black," recently checked out the new revival of Eric Bogosian's TALK RADIO at the Chain Theatre. Barbara appeared in the 2007 Broadway production of TALK RADIO starring Live Schreiber, and she was also in the original cast of The Secret Garden as the housekeeper Mrs. Medlock.

But turn back the clocks 100 years and theatergoers will soon discover that life in the early 20th century was very similar, when they see MANHATTAN TRANSFER.
