Park Avenue Armory Announces Cast Of JUDGMENT DAY

Park Avenue Armory announces today the cast for its December production of Judgment Daya?"the world premiere of Christopher Shinn's new adaptation of ?-dön von Horváth's 1937 play. Luke Kirby, best known for his Emmy Award-winning performance of Lenny Bruce on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel , plays the leading role in the production, which is the first ground-up theater production for the Armory. In his return to the Armory after his award-winning production of The Hairy Ape (2017), acclaimed theater director Richard Jones leads the cast of 16, which includes Susannah Perkins (Network; The Wolves), Alyssa Bresnahan (Network; 27 Dresses), Henry Stram (Junk; The Elephant Man), and Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie a?" Tony Award; Desperate Housewives).

The New York Dance & Arts Innovations (NYDAI) presents the New Vision concert, as part of the 21st Chopin & Friends Festival between Nov. 8- 26, 2019. Irish Heritage Theatre announces its Fall 2019 production Woman and Scarecrow by Marina Carr. After a highly successful and critically acclaimed 'Fathers of Ireland' season last year featuring Lay Me Down Softly ( second Barrymore recommendation) and IHT's beloved production of Da , which was the company's best attended show to date, IHT moves to a season of plays dedicated to exploring the final days of life as we know it. The Irish Heritage Theatre's first 'End of Days in Ireland' offering is the aforementioned Woman and Scarecrow, following the last day of the life of the titular character as she wrestles with her inner demons and her alter ego. IHT will follow that up with the classic, Steward of Christendom by Sebastian Barry, a Lear-like exploration of a former officer's final days.

Lala Costa: From United Solo To Dynamic Duo

In the fall of 2016, Lala Costa lit up United Solo's New York stage with her exhilarating Puerto Ricaness show, 'Calling Lala: A One Woman-Broadway-Adjacent-Boricua Show.' This fall her series 'Bad Cop Bad Cop' has gained heat in the film festival circuit. Starring Guillermo Canba as Mexican Cop and Lala Costa as Puerto Rican Cop, the dynamic duo's 'En Español' episode has already been accepted into festivals around the world. 'En Español,' the series' first episode, which started as an all Spanish language short, has already won Best Crime Comedy Short at the Silicon Beach Film Festival in Playa Del Rey and Best Buddy Comedy at the Silver State Film Festival in Las Vegas. It has also been selected by London's International Online Film Festival, Italy's Under The Stars Film Festival, and the 4th International Short Film Festival Pune, India.

Slamdance Announces Screenplay Competition Winners

Slamdance today announced the winners of its 2019 screenwriting competition, awarding its Grand Prize to writers Tamra Teig and Michael Lipoma for their feature screenplay “The Fall.” Additional prizes were awarded during a ceremony hosted by Writers Guild of America West across feature film, horror/thriller, TV pilot and short film categories. Slamdance awarded more​ than $16,000 to winners across all categories.
