BWW Review: Theatre de la Ville's IONESCO SUITE at BAM's Fishman Space is Absurdly Engaging and Existentially Freeing

Due to popular demand, freeFall Theatre Company is extending Perfect Arrangement through March 3. 

Playhouse on Park has cast Lauren Gunderson's The Revolutionists, a grand and dream-tweaked comedy about art and activism, feminism and terrorism, violence and legacy, and changing the world. This provocative play runs February 20-March 10; opening night, including a complimentary wine and cheese reception, is set for February 22.

Lauren Gunderson's THE REVOLUTIONISTS at Gulfshore Playhouse tells the story of Olympe de Gouges, a woman playwright during the French Revolution, along with three other strong women living in France during the Reign of Terror: Marie Antoinette, Charlotte Corday, and Marianne Angelle.

Epic Theatre Company continues its season of "Conviction" with a sophisticated and sharp comedy about four famous women in the midst of a revolution.  Set during the Reign of Terror, Olympe de Gouges, Charlotte Corday, Marianne Angelle, and Marie Antoinette banter, scheme, plan a murder, and debate their part in history in this fantastical and fabulous play about what we can do to change the world around us and whether we have the conviction to do it.

Betty Grumble, aka Emma Maye Gibson, brings her celebration of all things female and call to reinstate the power of the feminine to Griffin Theatre with LOVE AND ANGER.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) is raising the swashbuckling stakes on the Robin Hood folklore with an exciting adventure that conjures up joy, romance and merriment. Ken Ludwig's Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood, is a lightning speed tale full of playful characters that will take over the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square from February 2nd through February 24th, 2019.

The Revolutionists is a comedic play about four women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. Playwright Olympe De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, loose their heads and try to beat back the extremist insanity in 1793's Paris. What began as a hopeful revolution for the people of France and her colonies to address social and economic inequality is now sinking into hyper-violent extremist insanity. Part of the Main Stage Series.

As we welcome in 2019 in Southwest Florida, we also welcome in a very full theatre season!
