A staged reading of This One Girl's Story will be presented on October 28th, 2009 at Middle Collegiate Church in New York City. This new musical, inspired by the life of Sakia Gunn (1988-2003), is described as the story of 'One girl on the way to being a woman ... and her friends... live, laugh, love and remember the time... the one night when they could be exactly who they were... before someone decided they couldn't.' The reading will begin at 7pm.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) and Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the writers for the Songwriters Showcase, which will be Co-hosted by David Zippel & Dee Hoty as well as additional casting for the eight musicals in the 21st Annual Festival of New Musicals at New World Stages (340 West 50th St) on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
Off-Broadway's NIGHT SKY explores what the noted author and physicist Stephen Hawking has called the two remaining mysteries -- the brain and the cosmos -- as the play looks at what happens to a bright, articulate astronomer, her family and her career when she is struck by a car and loses her ability to speak conventionally, a condition known as 'aphasia.'
Scheduled May 22nd through June 20th, performances of NIGHT SKY run Tuesdays through Fridays at 8:00pm; Saturdays at 3:00pm & 8:00pm; and Sundays at 3:00pm (with an added performance on Monday, June 1st at 8:00pm and no performance on Wednesday, June 3rd) at Baruch Performing Arts Center (55 Lexington Avenue).

The Huntington Theatre Company opens its season at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA with Academy Award-nominated Jose Rivera's Boleros for the Disenchanted. Directed by OBIE Award-winning Chay Yew, the production runs October 10 - November 15, 2008.
