Anthony van Dyck (1599–1641), one of the most celebrated and influential portraitists of all time, enjoyed an international career that took him from his native Flanders to Italy, France, and, ultimately, the court of Charles I in England.

All in all, this is a fun show for everyone, especially during this holiday season as we reflect upon those we love.

DALLAS, NOVEMBER 11, 2015 – The Dallas Opera is delighted to present an original, musically compelling and visually stunning world premiere: Mark Adamo's BECOMING SANTA CLAUS, opening tonight, December 4that 7:30 p.m. in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.  

The CSO's Music Director Riccardo Muti returns to Chicago for a week of subscription concerts, this weekend, December 3-5, leading a varied program of music by Beethoven, Prokofiev and Scriabin with the Chicago Symphony Chorus and pianist Kirill Gerstein as soloist as the CSO continues its 125th anniversary season.

This new program, The Institute for Women Conductors at The Dallas Opera, will be inaugurated today, November 28, 2015 and run through December 6, 2015, with generous support from the Richard and Enika Schulze Foundation.

Yale Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of PEERLESS by Jiehae Park, directed by Margot Bordelon, November 27-December 19 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Thursday, December 3. The cast of PEERLESS includes Teresa Avia Lim, Christopher Livingston, Caroline Neff, JD Taylor, and Tiffany Villarin.

Cameron Mackintosh announced on November 19 that his acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON - a smash hit in London since its premiere there in May, 2014 - will open on Broadway in the spring of 2017 at a Shubert theater to be announced.  The Broadway return of MISS SAIGON will feature its acclaimed London stars, Filipino-born and L.A. resident Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer and 19 year-old North Carolina native Eva Noblezada as Kim, who was discovered by the MISS SAIGON casting team at the National High School Musical Awards two years ago in New York.   First performance and opening night dates will be announced at a later date.

In February 2016, the New Museum will present a major exhibition of the work of Anri Sala, whose innovative and rigorous work has garnered critical acclaim. Though Sala has exhibited internationally since the late 1990s, "Anri Sala: Answer Me" will mark his first solo presentation at a New York museum. The exhibition will be on view from February 3 through April 10, 2016.

The Ridgefield Playhouse and AAA Northeast Live in HD Series present an encore screening of the Bolshoi Ballet's Lady of Camellias, John Neumeier's dramatic masterpiece, on Sunday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m. 

The ABC Television Network has announced midseason premiere dates for new series "Of Kings & Prophets," "My Diet Is Better Than Yours," "The Catch," "The Family" and "The Real O'Neals."  Season premiere dates were also announced for returning favorites "The Bachelor," "Beyond The Tank," "Galavant" and "Marvel's Agent Carter." They will join the schedule with acclaimed series "American Crime," previously announced to make its second-season premiere WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6.
