Nikki Renee Daniels to Lead Developmental Lab of THE COUNTESS OF STORYVILLE

The Countess of Storyville, a new original American musical, will be performed at an invitation only developmental lab on October 22nd and 23rd at The Pearl Studios. Directed by Mark Waldrop,The Countess of Storyville, has music by Martin Silvestri, lyrics by Joel Higgins, book by R.M. Cohen and is choreographed by Denis Jones. The musicalis presented by The Pasadena Playhouse in association with Margot Astrachan and Michael Rubenstein.

Dallas Opera to Initiate New 'Linda & Mitch Hart Institute' Thanks to Generous Gift

DALLAS, OCTOBER 15, 2015 – The Dallas Opera is the proud recipient of a substantial gift from Linda and Mitch Hart which will be used to provide long-term support for an exciting, new company initiative.  The much-anticipated international institute for women opera conductors will henceforth be called “The Linda and Mitch Hart Institute for Women Conductors at The Dallas Opera.”               This innovative program is designed to support the career aspirations and advancement of women conductors in the field, while addressing the various problems resulting from deep-seated gender stereotypes at the top of the profession.

The famous diary of Anne Frank has been recreated, republished, and reproduced in perhaps every form imaginable. Since its original publication in Amsterdam in 1947, The Diary of a Young Girl has been translated into over 67 languages, with over 30 million copies sold to this day. It has inspired the 1955 Tony Award-winning play, The Diary of Anne Frank (revived on Broadway in 1997), and the 1959 film version under the same name. The University of Texas' Department of Theatre and Dance kicks off their 2015-2016 theatrical season with the famed play.

Cast Announced for Signature's NIGHT IS A ROOM; Tickets Now on Sale

Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for Night is a Room, written by Residency One playwright Naomi Wallace and directed by Bill Rauch. Night is a Room, the third and final production of Wallace's residency, runs November 3, 2015 to December 13, 2015 with a Sunday, November 22 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. BAC Receives $3 Million Gift from Rudolf Nureyev Dance Foundation

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the award of a $3 million gift from the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Foundation to create the Rudolf Nureyev Endowment and to name the Rudolf Nureyev Studio. This is the first endowment gift to Baryshnikov Arts Center, made as it celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year. It is specifically designated to support dance activity at BAC and to name BAC's Studio 4A the Rudolf Nureyev Studio in perpetuity. The gift was announced by Barry L. Weinstein, the Chairman of the Board of the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Foundation at BAC's 10th Anniversary Fall Fete on September 28, held at the Center.
