Northlight Theatre Sets 42nd Season

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces its 42nd season, including three World Premieres and two Midwest Premieres. The season kicks off with the Midwest Premiere of Anthony Giardina's political family drama The City of Conversation, critically acclaimed and currently in development as a miniseries for F/X. The season continues with the World Premiere of the charmingly imagined sequel to Pride and Prejudice, Miss Bennet by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, followed by the World Premiere of Faceless by emerging playwright Selina Fillinger, and the Midwest Premiere of By the Water by Sharyn Rothstein, winner of the prestigious 2015 Primus Prize. Closing out the season is the World Premiere of Relativity by Mark St. Germain, the prolific playwright behind the long-running Freud's Last Session.

Houston Ballet to Present THE SLEEPING BEAUTY, 2/25-3/6

?From February 25 - March 6, 2016, in celebration of Artistic Director Emeritus Ben Stevenson's 80th birthday, Houston Ballet will revive his spectacular staging of The Sleeping Beauty. The ballet is a flagship work for the company and a piece that is recognized as one of the supreme achievements of classical ballet. The Sleeping Beauty is based on the classic French fairy tale by Charles Perrault: a beautiful princess is cursed by an evil fairy and doomed to sleep for 100 years - only to be awakened by the kiss of the handsome prince who loves her. Desmond Heeley's spectacular designs beautifully evoke the magic, drama and whimsy of this great work. The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for GHOST QUARTET and THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS will go on sale Thursday, February 11 at 10 a.m. GHOST QUARTET, a song cycle about love, death and whiskey, with music and lyrics by two-time OBIE Award winner Dave Malloy, will be performing four shows April 7 through April 9, 2016.

?The Pennington Players are bringing the classic play, The Diary of Anne Frank, to the stage of Kelsey Theatre. Performances are March 11, 12, 18, 19, 2016 at 8:00 pm and March 13 & 20, 2016, at 2:00 pm. Kelsey Theatre is located on the Mercer County Community College West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on March 11. There will be a special talk back session with the cast and crew held after the 8 pm performance on Friday, March 18.

The national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story, will play three performances at the Music Hall at Fair Park on February 27 & 28, 2016, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals Management Group, Inc. The show will make its way to Fort Worth, where it will play for one night only at Bass Performance Hall February 29, 2016, presented by Performing Arts Fort Worth.
