ANRI SALA: ANSWER ME Opens Today at the New Museum

In February 2016, the New Museum will present a major exhibition of the work of Anri Sala, whose innovative and rigorous work has garnered critical acclaim. Though Sala has exhibited internationally since the late 1990s, 'Anri Sala: Answer Me' will mark his first solo presentation at a New York museum. The exhibition will be on view from today, February 3, through April 10, 2016.

This February, the New Museum will present a major exhibition of the work of Anri Sala, one of the most acclaimed artists to emerge in recent decades. Though Sala has exhibited internationally since the late 1990s, “Anri Sala: Answer Me” will mark the most comprehensive survey of his work in the United States to date. Highlighting Sala's continuing interest in how sound and music can engage architecture and history, the exhibition will feature extensive multichannel audio and video installations that will unfold across the Second, Third, and Fourth Floor galleries, composing a symphonic experience specific to the New Museum.

Golf is a game which requires patience and strategy, and in many ways, so does Norm Foster's 2014 comedy, The Ladies Foursome, mounted by Lewiston's Public Theatre. Directed by Judith Ivey and cast with a fine ensemble the four-character play about the secrets and sharing of a quartet of friends yields rewards for those who wait.

Vincent van Gogh's painting of his bedroom in Arles is arguably the most famous chambre in the history of art. So important was this composition that van Gogh made three distinct versions and considered it his finest painting. Now, for the first time in North America, all three versions of the painting will be together in an exhibition titled Van Gogh's Bedrooms at the Art Institute of Chicago.

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for ALAN CUMMING SINGS SAPPY SONGS will go on sale Friday, January 29 at 10 a.m. Alan Cumming will perform two shows with his longtime collaborator and Emmy Award-winning musical director Lance Horne and cellist Eleanor Norton at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Dallas City Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District.

Roundabout Theatre Company has confirmed the lineup for its fifth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series this morning, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as curtain speeches by Roundabout Underground artist alumni and post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Ben Steinfeld, Alexander Gemignani, Jireh Breon Holder, Sylvia Khoury, Martin Zimmerman and Jessica Moss.

Sacha Wares Returns To Almeida Theatre to Direct World Premiere of BOY, April 5

Sacha Wares will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of Leo Butler's new play Boy, after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production, Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015. Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May 2016, with press night on 12 April 2016. Director Sacha Wares is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers, Miriam Buether for set design (Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations), who worked with Sacha on Game at the Almeida in 2015, and Ultz for costume (Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time. Further creative credits include movement by Leon Baugh, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Gareth Fry.
