Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for Angel Reapers, written by Residency Five playwright Martha Clarke and Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winner Alfred Uhry, directed and choreographed by Ms. Clarke. Angel Reapers runs February 2 to March 13, 2016 with a Monday, February 22 opening night in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Now that 2015 is squarely in the rearview mirror, and everyone is back to work after the holidays, it is time to take a look at some of the best films of the past year. As was the case with my Top 15 TV Shows of 2015 list, this is not intended to be a comprehensive list. I am one man, and I have not yet seen every major movie released last year. However, as I continue to work through screeners and upcoming screenings (I live in Orlando, so not all of the awards-bait has been released here yet), I will count down the top 2015 releases that I saw during the calendar year. Notable omissions are BRIDGE OF SPIES, THE REVENANT, THE DANISH GIRL, and CONCUSSION, all of which I hope to see by the end of the week.

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY took the number one spot in Fandango's 2016 'Hot List of Most Anticipated Movies.' Over one thousand movie fans were polled in the annual survey, taken in the final weeks of 2015.

In conjunction with Arizona Opera's new community-based artistic initiative, Arizona Bold, the company presents a short preview of a new operatic work in development, THE COPPER QUEEN on January 3 at 3:00 p.m. at the Arizona Opera Center in Phoenix.

Avi Hoffman, whose recent performance as Willy Loman in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman for the New Yiddish Rep at Off Broadway's Castillo Theatre won consistently rave reviews, will direct Unlikely Heroes, a new play by first time playwright Dr. Charles Gluck.  Hoffman, who will also act in the production, will be joined on stage by a veritable 'Who's Who' of South Florida Theatre - the cast of Unlikely Heroes includes Patti Gardner, Robert Johnston, Margot Moreland, Kim Ostrenko, and Michael H. Small.  The production will run from January 28th - February 21st at the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center in Boca Raton.

The Dallas Opera is the proud recipient of two extraordinary new gifts, totaling $2 million, from The Eugene McDermott Foundation and Mrs. Eugene (Margaret) McDermott, who have requested that the position of Dallas Opera General Director and CEO be known henceforth as the “Kern Wildenthal General Director and CEO” in honor of the longtime Dallas Opera Board Member and Past Chairman.  Dr. Wildenthal currently serves the company as an Officer-at-large on TDO's Executive Committee.
