Sheldon Harnick wrote the words for the songs in Fiddler, The Rothchilds, and lyrics for many other historic tunes, but he also wrote the words in a new book of photographs by his wife Margery Gray and son Matt Harnick.  The book was launched at a party attended by lots of his Broadway friends at TAO  in NYC and Broadwayworld was there.  Like his songs, the photographs in KOI are a thing of beauty and create wonderful feelings.

The 92Y celebrated Songbook Classics By Unsung Lyricists last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

Margery Gray Harnick and Matt Harnick have joined their talents for photography with Sheldon Harnick's lyrical writing to publish 'Koi: A Modern Folktale', available June 21, 2017.

The stage adaption of the animated classic, ANASTASIA opened on Broadway just last night at the Broadhurst Theatre. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the big night and we're taking you to the red carpet below!

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) presented its annual 2017 Spring Gala 'Act II: Setting the Stage for Roundabout's Future' last night, February 27,  in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria (301 Park Avenue, NYC). The evening honored legendary four-time Tony-winning stage and film actor Frank Langella with The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre and Leonard Tow, Founder & Chairman of The Tow Foundation, with the Ovation Award for Excellence in Philanthropy.

The Fred Ebb Foundation just presented the twelfth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Thomas Mizer and Curtis Moore, last night in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

The 90th Macy's Day parade balloons will not pass by the Friars Club on 55th street but the celebrity guests at the club got to see some great photos of them yesterday at the club.  Sheldon and Margery Harnick hosted a Book Launch Party for Matt Harnick who has a wonderful new book © Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: A New York City Holiday Tradition, Rizzoli N.Y. 2016, which is filled with exclusive photography by Matt, along with archival images of the spectacular floating balloons.  The book offers a never-before-seen look at the planning and preparation of the parade.  Italy features text by Stephen M. Silverman, Foreword by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Afterword by Terry J. Lindgren, Chairman & CEO of Macy's Inc. in conjunction with this milestone anniversary.  The guests in the Milton Berle Room of the Friars Club were also treated to a performance by Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin and a conversation with Sheldon Harnick, Matt Harnick and Amy Kule, Executive Producer of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  It was a great afternoon and it was nice and warm watching the parade go by inside the club.

Just last night, Dramatists Guild Fund presented its annual benefit gala- Great Writers Thank Their Lucky Stars: The Presidential Edition at Gotham Hall in New York. Raul Esparza debuted 'The Flag Song' from ASSASSINS which was cut before performances began, and Patrick Page performed from Robert Schenkkan's ALL THE WAY. 'Let's have a Parade!' This is the iconic phrase that kicks off the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade each and every year. Since 1924 the spectacle has delighted millions of fans in Herald Square and around the world. Celebrating its 90th march in 2016, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has proudly marked the official start of the holiday season for several generations of fans, and MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE: A NEW YORK CITY HOLIDAY TRADITION is the official commemorative keepsake for this big anniversary.

Roundabout Theatre Company's new production of The Cherry Orchard, starring Diane Lane, Chuck Cooper, Tavi Gevinson, John Glover, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Harold Perrineau and Joel Grey, officially opened just last night, October 16, 2016. This is a limited engagement through December 4, 2016 on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG)'s sold-out production of Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Fiorello! just transferred to Off-Broadway's East 13th Street Theater (136 East 13th Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues), home of Classic Stage Company.

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Shelian-Shanks) gathered yesterday, May 20th, for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, hosted by 2016 Tony® Award-nominees, Zachary Levi (She Loves Me) and Megan Hilty (Noises Off), in the Broadway Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). Today was a very special day for the Broadway community and one that Sheldon Harnick will never forget. The RIDE OF FAME teamed up with the City of New York and the casts of Tony-nominated shows FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and SHE LOVES ME to present lyrical legend Harnick with another curtain call to celebrate his career and upcoming Lifetime Achievement Tony Award at the young age of 92. The Tony Awards Administration Committee announced today, April 19th that two-time Tony Award-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick and multiple Tony-nominated director Marshall W. Mason will be this year's recipients of the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre.

SHE LOVES ME officially opened last week on March 17, 2016, for a limited engagement through July 10, 2016 at Studio 54 on Broadway. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the whole evening, starting with the sacred Gypsy Robe ceremony.
