Sung in Galician, Asturian, and Spanish, 'Veleno' is an illustrious collaboration between Baiuca and Asturian artist Rodrigo Cuevas. In the recovery and resignification of the codes of traditional Iberian music, Cuevas was instrumental in taking it to new territories.
The Palace Theater’s six week Afterschool program funded by the American Savings Foundation will culminate in a live presentation on Wednesday, April 14, from 3:30 – 5:30pm at the PALACE Theater in Waterbury, for participant’s Families invited for the celebration.
Many of us, including myself, have missed the theatre, the place where audiences are imbued with a jubilant escape, which unfortunately hasn't been able to happen for the past year, as the island of Oahu reaches its one-year mark of having officially being put on lockdown due to the Coronavirus. Though, with Oahu finally easing up on restrictions due to Covid, Diamond Head Theatre (DHT) was finally able to mount its first musical since The Sound of Music in 2019. And, while 2020 was definitely not one for the books, it was an utter delight to finally be able to book tickets for Shout! at DHT, where the staff has set and maintained strict social-distancing protocols, with a mask mandate, subsequently providing spectators with more peace of mind. One can only imagine how tricky it might be to stage a full 90-minute musical with actors on stage, lots of movement and choreography, and the potential risk of cross contamination due to the consistent mask-less singing. However, director-choreographer John Rampage and the cast of five talented ladies superbly pull it off!

SMU's Meadows School of the Arts will present its 28th annual 'Meadows at the Meyerson' concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20 in the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St. in Dallas. The event will feature five works highlighting Latin American and Spanish music, performed by the Meadows Symphony Orchestra.

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin is currently working on developing Game of Thrones as a stage play for Broadway, the West End and Australia. Martin is writing the play alongside Duncan MacMillan, and it is set to be directed by Dominic Cooke. The first show is expected to launch in 2023.
