The Drama Desk Award-winning artwork of Frank 'Fraver' Verlizzo includes over 250 of his theatre poster designs from Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional and international productions. Graphic designer Frank Verlizzo, known professionally as FRAVER, takes you behind the scenes for a glimpse into the world of theatrical advertising and poster design. He created the logo designs for hundreds of theatrical productions from The Lion King to Agatha Christie'sThe Mousetrap. Over 20 of Fraver's poster designs for the works of theatre legend Stephen Sondheim are spotlighted including: Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, Getting Away With Murder, and the landmark 2002 Sondheim Celebration. His posters encompass those created for Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Kennedy Center, and New York City Center's Encores! series. Fraver by Design also features an additional 40 unpublished poster sketches never before seen for some of Broadway's favorite shows. Playbill called Frank 'Fraver' Verlizzo 'the theatre poster legend.'

CUNY TV will salute the upcoming 2017 Tony Awards with a new TONY Preview Special on ARTS IN THE CITY, plus a new 2017 TONY Predictions episode and a new TONY Time Critics panel, both on THEATER TALK. Among those performing tributes will be Tony Award nominee Keith Carradine (Hands on a Hardbody, The Will Rogers Follies) and Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins (Caroline, or Change; Jelly's Last Jam). The event co-chairs are Roger Berlind, Roy Furman, and Barry and Fran Weissler.

The Drama Desk Award-winning National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene is announcing a first of its kind new play contest. The contest will encourage writers and directors to conceive and develop new works in Yiddish, or based on Yiddish sources, to add to the great legacy of the Yiddish theatre. The contest's jury includes the producer Manny Azenberg, the composer and songwriter Jason Robert Brown, and the playwrights Joe DiPietro; Israel Horovitz and Jon Marans. The contest's winning play or musical will be showcased during the First New York International Festival of Jewish Performing Arts, which Folksbiene inaugurates in June of 2015 to commemorate its first 100 years.
Tony Award-Winner Dick Latessa, former Board Chair for Creative Alternatives of New York (CANY), a not-for-profit that uses drama therapy to help New York's most vulnerable children and adults has helped CANY assemble an Honorary Broadway Board. The ten inaugural members have been supporters of CANY, often giving their time and talent to annual fund-raising efforts. Several members have been honored at past CANY Galas and continue their support of CANY's mission by providing professional expertise as the organization expands its services to reach more children and adults than ever before.
FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY continues its Fall 2012 season with the return engagement of film, television, and theatre star PETER GALLAGHER. For his one-man show, "How'd All You People Get In My Room?," Gallagher shares real-life stories from his early days starting out as a young actor in New York, to working with legends like Jack Lemmon, Tom Stoppard, Mike Nichols, Robert Altman, Peter O'Toole and more. Joined by his four-piece band, Gallagher brings his experiences to life with songs ranging from Broadway, to music from the hit television show "The OC," to classics from Sammy Cahn, Jules Styne, Burt Bacharach and Van Morrison. When Gallagher debuted at the club in 2007, The New York Times raved that "he inhabits a song so comfortably that it flows directly out, a fusion of his own personality and the character he is playing."
