HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE Enters Final Two Weeks of Performances

Manhattan Theatre Club’s Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive is in its final two weeks of performances. The production will end its extended run on Sunday, June 12 at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Matthew López will adapt The Deviant’s War: The Homosexual vs. The United States of America into a limited series. The book tells the story of Frank Kameny, a Department of Defense astronomer in the 1950s who led the fight for LGBTQ civil rights in America when he sued the federal government after being fired from his job for being gay.

WINDFALL Opens This Week at Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to share production photos of Windfall, the first show of the 2022 Mainstage Season. The new comedy by Scooter Pietsch, directed by Jason Alexander, will make its East Coast premiere this week on Tuesday, May 31, and runs through June 19.

Tripwire Harlot Press to Publish Plays By Ground-Breaking BIPOC Writers in Sledgehammer Series

The Sledgehammer Series, a book project hosted by Tripwire Harlot Press, was created during the pandemic by playwrights Sheila Callaghan, Jacqueline Goldfinger, and Sarah Ruhl to address limited opportunities in dramatic publishing in the American theater, and specifically to redress a lack of published visibility for BIPOC playwrights.
