The Broadway League’s Black to Broadway Initiative will present the second annual Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth concert, a free outdoor event centered around Black artistry and community.

Manhattan Theatre Club’s Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning How I Learned to Drive is in its final two weeks of performances. The production will end its extended run on Sunday, June 12 at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents Feedback Workshop #1: The World and the Want on Sunday June 26, 2022 from noon to 7pm ET. Matthew López will adapt The Deviant’s War: The Homosexual vs. The United States of America into a limited series. The book tells the story of Frank Kameny, a Department of Defense astronomer in the 1950s who led the fight for LGBTQ civil rights in America when he sued the federal government after being fired from his job for being gay.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to share production photos of Windfall, the first show of the 2022 Mainstage Season. Six women find themselves trapped on an email chain as they plan their friend's baby shower when IAMA Theatre Company presents Untitled Baby Play by Nina Braddock. Katie Lindsay directs the IAMA-developed world premiere for a five-week run that continues through June 27 at Atwater Village Theatre.

Manhattan Theatre Club held its annual Spring Gala on Monday, May 23 at Cipriani 42nd Street honoring Bobbie Olsen, a former member of Manhattan Theatre Club's Board of Directors. The Gala featured performances by the casts of many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including Company, Girl From the North Country, MJ, Mrs. Doubtfire, Paradise Square, Six, Tina and more.

The Sledgehammer Series, a book project hosted by Tripwire Harlot Press, was created during the pandemic by playwrights Sheila Callaghan, Jacqueline Goldfinger, and Sarah Ruhl to address limited opportunities in dramatic publishing in the American theater, and specifically to redress a lack of published visibility for BIPOC playwrights.
