LABA: Laboratory for Jewish Culture announces the 2017-2018 Fellows: a group of ten culture-makers, a mix of visual artists, writers, musicians, playwrights and directors who are brought together to study classic Jewish texts in a non-religious, open-minded setting centered on a chosen theme; this year's theme is WAR + PEACE.

Rarely has the lowly and much-maligned post-show talkback received as much attention as it has since it was revealed that David Mamet was prohibiting them during productions of his plays. Inspired by Mr. Mamet's decision while honoring his prohibition, in this series of public discussions critic and journalist Jeremy M. Barker and director Patrice Miller bring together diverse practitioners to explore issues raised by Mr. Mamet's long career through their own experiences. The guests for this second session in the series, on Sunday, Oct. 15, are writer Leonard Jacobs (The Clyde Fitch Report), writer Colleen Werthman and playwright Amina Henry. Each will explore artists' powers, limitations, and challenges in defining the experience of their works.

The Bushwick Starr is thrilled to collaborate with West Yorkshire Playhouse in presenting the world premiere of Animal Wisdom, a new music-theater piece by Obie Award-winning composer and performer Heather Christian (The TEAM's Mission Drift & The World is Round, BAM), in collaboration with acclaimed artist/performer Andrew Schneider (YOUARENOWHERE- 2015 OBIE award, 2016 Drama Desk nom.), director Mark Rosenblatt (Associate Artist, West Yorkshire Playhouse), and her genre-defying group, the Arbornauts.
