Dixon Place will present ALMODOVAR DYSTOPIA, the new commission by the boundary-pushing downtown movement artist Antonio Ramos.

With the assistance of a generous grant from the Tow Foundation, the Department of Theater in conjunction with the MFA Playwriting Program, headed by co-coordinators Mac Wellman and Erin Courtney, will present the annual Weasel Festival, hosted by The Public Theater.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced the line-up for NEW SONGS NOW, an unplugged concert series, presented in association with New Neighborhood and Rosalind Productions, Inc. taking place Sunday, July 23 through Thursday, July 27 at 8:30pm at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place New York, NY 10014).

Dixon Place (Ellie Covan, Founding & Artistic Director) co-presents the return of Atlas Circus Company with their newest full-length piece, LUCKY. Atlas reinvents American circus with a refreshing combination of theatre, circus arts and dance.  LUCKY will play six performances only - August 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th at 7:30 PM - at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). Dixon Place (Ellie Covan, Founding & Artistic Director) presents the co-production of world-famous beatboxer and Drama Desk Award recipient Chesney Snow's THE UNWRITTEN LAW opening Sunday, July 30th. Snow comes direct from his run in Broadway's In Transit, where Ben Brantley of the NY Times called him "a one-man sound effects wiz."

Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 Season. The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. In a shift that begins this season, Morgan Green (William Shakespeare's Mom) will direct all three productions, showcasing the talents and range of the rising director.

Dixon Place's  (Ellie Covan, Founding & Artistic Director) commission of the acclaimed performance collective Sister Sylvester's MAPS FOR A WAR TOURIST, will have its world premiere on Friday, June 2nd at 7:30 PM. 

The Tank (Rosalind Grush and Meghan Finn, co-artistic directors) is thrilled to present the world premiere of Franz Kafka's A HUNGER ARTIST, adapted from Kafka's story by Sinking Ship Productions, created collaboratively by performer Jonathan Levin, writer Josh Luxenberg, and director Joshua William Gelb. Part of The Tank's Flint & Tinder series, A HUNGER ARTIST begins performances on Thursday, June 1 for a limited engagement through Friday, June 27.  Press Opening is Wednesday, June 7 at 8 PM. New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, will honor 10-time Tony Award-winning producer Daryl Roth and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel with their 2017 Outstanding Career Achievement Awards at its 68th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute.
