In 2010, Time Out New York celebrated The Brick as Essential New York! 'For the nerds, outcasts and mad experimenters of theater. That includes both creators and spectators.' From January to July of 2011, The Brick is making good on this claim by presenting a series of productions and festivals that display the range and boldness of its many artists - whether they be returning favorites or brand new faces!

Following the sold out performances and overflow crowds at its first two Cino Nights presentations (of Gary Sunshine's BEST SEX EVER and Mando Alvarado's (O)N THE 5:31), Rising Phoenix Rep continued the series November 7th with Courtney Baron's HERE I LIE which was performed by Denis Butkus and Samantha Soule to a sold out house. In this two-character play, 'Maris and Joseph have made their beds and now have to lie in them. Two people connected by illness, loneliness, and the need to be understood, they navigate the murky waters of subjective truth. If you believe it, can you make it true?' The production was directed by Rising Phoenix Rep artistic director Daniel Talbott.

Theater for the New City has announced that following its sold-out, critically-acclaimed run as part of the DreamUp New Plays Festival, Keep Your Baggage With You (at all times), written by Jonathan Blitstein and directed by Daniel Talbott, will return for an extension beginning Thursday, September 16 at 7pm and running through Tuesday, September 28. Keep Your Baggage With You (at all times) plays at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets. Told in seven scenes taking place over several years Keep Your Baggage With You (at all times) traces the devolution of a friendship between two young New York men whose bonds are compromised by the stresses of career, family, relationships, and 21st century sexual mores in a complex digital age in which we ask too many questions, but don't have enough answers.
