Lena Hall to Celebrate the Power of Art at St. Ann's Warehouse Gala

St. Ann's Warehouse has announced its 2017 gala, which will feature a special concert, created for the occasion, by Tony Award-winner and GRAMMY Award-nominee Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, How to Transcend a Happy Marriage), Monday, June 5, at the "stunning" (New York Magazine) waterfront theater in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater will present NEW YORK, NEW YEAR A New Musical, from April 29 - May 21, 2017.  Based on the original concept by GARY BAGLEY, NEW YORK, NEW YEAR has book by CHRISTINA FRANKLIN, music by MICHAEL MULDER & lyrics by GARY BAGLEY, with additional lyrics by MATTHEW GREGORY.

Artists at Play to Workshop TOT: THE UNTOLD, YET SPECTACULAR STORY OF (A FILIPINO) HULK HOGAN

Artists at Play will workshop Victor Maog's tot: The Untold, Yet Spectacular Story of (a filipino) Hulk Hogan, followed by multiple readings in May across Los Angeles through a partnership with the Los Angeles Public Library LA Made series and AAP's Annual Reading series. Rodney To will direct Maog's comedy, which will be free for the public to attend.  

Concrete Temple Theatre to Bring REMEMBERING EVANGELINE to HERE

Concrete Temple Theatre will present the world premiere of Remembering Evangeline, running for 14 performances, June 1 - 17 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street). Remembering Evangeline is written and directed by Renee Philippi and performed by Carlo Adinolfi, Sook Kim and Eun Sung Lee.

Brooklyn Youth Chorus to Premiere SILENT VOICES at BAM

On May 12 & 13, the Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus will premiere their new work Silent Voices at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House. Silent Voices is a fully-staged multimedia, multi-composer work conceived, commissioned, produced, and performed by the chorus, and comes at the culmination of their year-long 25th anniversary season.

Museum of Performance + Design Brings OEDIPUS to Fort Mason Chapel

The Museum of Performance + Design announces a special staged reading of Oedipus The King directed by JAMIE LYONS at Fort Mason Chapel on May 27, 2017. The reading is programmed as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival taking place at Fort Mason, May 25 - June 4, 2017.

Yale Rep Concludes 50th Anniversary Season with World Premiere of MARY JANE

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) concludes its 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of MARY JANE by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffman, April 28 through May 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Friday, May 5.

New Musicals COWBOY BOB and GUMBO Get 2017 Summer Labs at Yale Institute for Music Theatre

The Yale Institute for Music Theatre announces the two original book musicals which have been selected for this year's two-week summer lab: COWBOY BOB, created by Molly Beach Murphy, Jeanna Phillips, and Annie Tippe, book by Molly Beach Murphy, music and lyrics by Jeanna Phillips; and GUMBO, music by Brett Macias and book and lyrics by Christina Quintana.

Russian Crime Novelist and Political Dissident Boris Akunin to Take on HAMLET Off-Broadway

The best-selling Russian crime fiction writer Boris Akunin's new stage adaptation of Shakespeare's HAMLET will debut this spring Off-Broadway when Red Lab Productions and Roust Theatre Company present HAMLET. A VERSION, with previews beginning April 21, prior to the official press opening on April 25 at The Theater at St. Clement's (423 W. 46 St.) in New York City. HAMLET. A VERSION is directed by Irina Gachechiladze. The production features original music by Georgian composer Giya Kancheli.

Tennessee Williams Festival Announces Special Guest Scholar for 2017

The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival is pleased to announce Felicia Hardison Londre, professor of theater at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, as the special guest scholar at the sixth annual Tennessee Williams Institute (TWI), an immersive University-level symposium offered during the Festival from Sept. 20-24, 2017.
