Vertigo Theater Company presents the world premiere of STREET CHILDREN, written by Pia Scala-Zankel and directed by Jenna Worsham. STREET CHILDREN runs from November 30 - December 17, 2016 in a limited engagement at New Ohio Theatre, located at 154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington Streets in New York City. RIFF-TINA -- the Jewish-Puerto Rican pop sensation created by comedian and Broadway and TV star Leslie Kritzer, currently appearing in Something Rotten! at the St. James Theater -- is happy to drop her latest track in support of the Hillary Clinton campaign, 'Taco Truck Invasion.' The music video racked up over 38,000 views in its first day. The song will be available as a single on iTunes and other digital platforms today, October 21.

The new musical, THE LAST WORD will be presented at the Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42ND STREET project (229 W 42nd St) . THE LAST WORD is written by Brett Sullivan (Billy Elliot Live Film Director) and will be directed by Michael Bello (Doctor Zhivago), choreography by Nick Kenkel(Gotta Dance, Legally Blonde) and Musical Supervisor is Conrad Helfrich (Dirty Dancing). New York City Center's Encores! Off-Center series kicked off the 2016 season with Runaways, beginning July 6th. With Book, Lyrics, and Music by Elizabeth Swados, choreography by Ani Taj, music direction by Chris Fenwick and directed by Sam Pinkleton, Runaways played its final performance on July 9th. RUNAWAYS is set in 1977 when Liz Swados spent several months observing and interviewing childRunaways before shaping their stories, fears, and fantasies into a musical. A deeply unconventional work in its day, Runaways feels like the funkiest, most heartbreaking mixtape ever to come out of a 1970s boom box, packed with reggae anthems, hip-hop, soul-food lullabies, and spoken-word poetry. The Encores! Off-Center production will honor a theater visionary who was ferocious, inspiring, and left us far too soon.

Frenchie Davis (Rent, American Idol), Gideon Glick (Spider Man, Spring Awakening), Robin de Jesus (Two-time Tony nom. La Cage Aux Folles & In the Heights), Jay Armstrong Johnson (On the Town, Hands on a Hardbody) Ben Mayne (South Pacific tour), Doreen Montalvo (On Your Feet, In the Heights), MJ Rodriguez (Runaways, Rent), Tony Sheldon (Tony nom. Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Jason Tam (If/Then, A Chorus Line), Clarke Thorell (The Front Page, Annie) and more are set to perform a concert version of Max Vernon's musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS to raise money for the victims of the Pulse Orlando massacre. It will be directed by Scott Ebersold with Music Director James Dobinson.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial slate of artists participating in NYMF 2016, taking place from July 11 through August 7 in Midtown Manhattan.
