When it opened on Broadway in 2006, The Drowsy Chaperone boasted an all-star cast and garnered five Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. You can expect that same quality in Broadway at Music Circus' third production of the summer, with Lynne Wintersteller returning to Sacramento in the title role. Lynne was last seen here in 2017 as Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly! and as Mother Superior in Sister Act, where she solidified her place as Music Circus royalty and left audiences anticipating her return. We are now lucky enough to witness that event and Lynne was generous enough to speak with Broadway World Sacramento about her newest role and what we can expect from her in the future.

The show runs Tuesday, July 9 through Sunday, July 14 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion in Sacramento.

Casting has been confirmed for the 69th Broadway At Music Circus season, which begins June 11 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The season includes four Broadway At Music Circus premieres, Shrek the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wiz, and In the Heights.

The York Theatre Company presented a one-night only concert version of the newly re-imagined version of the beloved Broadway hit musical I Do! I Do!, with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, based on the play The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog, directed by York Theatre favorite David Glenn Armstrong and with music direction by David Hancock Turner, accompanied on piano by Evans Haile.  This special one-of-a-kind evening kicked off an eighteen-month celebration of The York Theatre Company's landmark 50th Anniversary.

Remember Henry Albertson? Sure, you do. He's that ancient, arthritic, fragile/agile but eternally game actor who traveled by stage trunk from scene to scene throughout the longest-running musical of all time, 'The Fantasticks.' You may even remember during one exit, just as the lid was closing, he managed to peer urgently out of the trunk at the audience and implore them, with proper theatrical flourish, 'Remember me -- in light.'

Based on the hit 1992 film, this musical will fill the round stage with saintly sisters for the first time in Music Circus history. Performances of Sister Act are Tuesday, August 22 through Sunday, August 27 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

After auditioning performers in New York City, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre has confirmed casting for all five shows in the 67th Music Circus season. The cast is loaded with Broadway veterans-some of whom are making their Music Circus debuts-Tony Award nominees, and audience favorites from previous Music Circus productions.

It only takes a moment to fall in love with the feel-good melodies and delightful characters of "Hello, Dolly!," the musical that gave film and Broadway star Carol Channing her signature role. Matchmaker Dolly Levi can be played a number of ways, which ensures every production remain refreshing and different. Barbara Streisand, Ethel Merman, Mary Martin and Sally Struthers have all taken on the title character. Manny Kladitis, Jeffrey Chrzczon, Terry Schnuck, Kathleen K. Johnson, Jack Lane, Radio Mouse Entertainment, Schaffert/Hummel, Driemeyer-Sills Productions, Michael Guccione, David Gersten, Erach Screwvala, and The Shubert Organization, by special arrangement with Cranberry Productions, are proud to welcome Tony and Drama Desk Award Winner Cady Huffman to the cast of Shear Madness. Cady assumes the role of Mrs. Shubert, originated by Lynne Wintersteller. Also joining the cast is Jonathan Randell Silver, most recently seen in Please Continue at Ensemble Studio Theatre, who will assume the role of Mike Thomas.  Adam Gerber, who created the role of Mike Thomas, has replaced Jeremy Kushnier in the role of Eddie Lawrence.

Shear Madness welcome Tony and Drama Desk Award Winner Cady Huffman to its cast of beginning tonight, Monday June 20th. Cady will assume the role of Mrs. Shubert, originated by Lynne Wintersteller. Also joining the cast tonight will be Jonathan Randell Silver, most recently seen in Please Continue at Ensemble Studio Theatre, who will assume the role of Mike Thomas.
