Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's flashy musical gets a different take.

After the events of the last few days, it feels cathartic to be in a theatre and laughing again. Thankfully there's Signature Theatre and the sensational duo of Tracy Lynn Olivera and Happy McPartlin in their new cabaret Make 'em Laugh.

The Ford's Theatre 2015-2016 season continues with the musical 110 IN THE SHADE, directed and choreographed by Tony-Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge, now through May 14, 2016. BroadwayWorld has an exclusive look at character portraits by Michael Yeshion.  Check them out below!

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 150 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 12-16, 2016 in multiple locations throughout the Center. Thousands of student artists from eight regions across the country presented their work at regional festivals from January 5 through February 27, 2016 and more than 150 were selected to travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the national festival.

Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer and Managing Director Maggie Boland announce the full lineup for Signature Theatre's 2016/17 season, including the previously announced production of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's FREAKY FRIDAY.

This American musical about confidence and courtship is based on N. Richard Nash's play, The Rainmaker, and features a lively score from the creators of The Fantasticks. Local favorite Tracy Lynn Olivera stars as Lizzie, with Kevin McAllister as File and Ben Crawford as the irresistible conman Starbuck.

Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault today announced the Ford's Theatre 2016-2017 season will begin with the new musical Come From Away directed by Christopher Ashley. Productions include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? directed by Aaron Posner and featuring Holly Twyford as Martha; the musical Ragtime, directed by Peter Flynn and featuring an all-local cast including Kevin McAllister, Tracy Lynn Olivera and Nova Y. Payton; and the 35th-annual production of Washington's holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol. Political comedian Mark Russell will return for a one-night-only performance during the height of election season.

Running in the MAX Theatre now through September 20, the inside-politics musical satire is the first production of Signature Theatre's 2015/2016 season. Tony Award-winning playwright Lisa Kron will be a featured guest and participant at the launch party of the Women's Voices Theater Festival on September 8 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The invitation-only event kicks off the beginning of the Festival, an unprecedented collaboration among professional theater companies that includes the presentation of more than 50 world-premiere productions of work by female playwrights, taking place this September and October in the nation's capital region. The launch party features a creative conversation between Kron and National Public Radio's Special Correspondent Susan Stamberg focused on gender parity in the arts in the Museum's Performance Hall, followed by a celebratory party and toast to officially declare the start of the Festival.
