Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, brings the holiday spirit to its 2018-19 season with Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens's musical adaption of the timeless Charles Dickens tale A Christmas Carol. Hailed as "soaring, delightful musical theatre with a treasure house of beautiful, evocative music" (Talkin' Broadway), A Christmas Carol tells the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge through a lavish and thrilling score. A Christmas Carol will perform at Hillbarn Theatre (1285 East Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City) November 29-December 16, 2018. The performance schedule is as follows: Thursdays-Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m. Press night for A Christmas Carol will be Friday, November 30, 2018. It was announced today, by husband Jason Danieley, a celebration of the life and Broadway legacy of Marin Mazzie will take place at the Gershwin Theatre, October 25th beginning at 1:30pm, for friends, family and the theatre community. There will be performances and testimonials from loved ones and theatre colleagues to pay tribute to the three-time Tony Award nominee who passed away on September 13th after a three-year tenacious struggle with ovarian cancer. A dimming of all the marquees on Broadway took place on September 19th as a sign of the impact Marin made through her many appearances on Broadway and concert stages throughout the country.
Broadway Records announces that Anastasia (Original Broadway Cast Recording) will be released on vinyl on December 14, 2018. The special edition vinyl set will be available in the US with a retail exclusive at Barnes & Noble and bn.com. The North American tour of the critically-acclaimed Broadway production of ANASTASIA will launch at Proctors in Schenectady, NY on October 9, 2018 and will go on to play 30 cities in its first season.
