TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, presents the regional premiere of SOMEWHERE, a captivating new play told in exuberant dance as well as drama by playwright Matthew Lopez (The Whipping Man), and featuring Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez (Broadway's A Chorus Line). This compelling tale of a 1960s Puerto Rican family dreaming and dancing its way toward show business will be helmed by director Giovanna Sardelli. SOMEWHERE plays tonight, January 16 - February 10, 2013 (press opening January 19) at TheatreWorks at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Luna Stage Announces New Moon Short Play Festival, 5/6

Luna Stage has announced the first ever New Moon Short Play Festival. The festival will be presented on Monday May 6th, 2013 at 7:30pm. Luna Stage is accepting submissions until February 15th, 2013 (postmark). Playwrights residing in New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania may apply. All selected playwrights must be present for the presentation on May 6th. There will be a talkback with the audience following the presentation of the plays.

Luna Stage continues the second season of its jazz series, 'Music In The Moonlight: An Intimate Evening of Jazz', on Sunday February 10th at 7pm with a one-night only concert by acclaimed pianist and vocalist Daniela Schachter. The Linden, NJ-based pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger will be joined at Luna Stage by tenor saxophonist Joel Frahm, bassist Steve La Spina and drummer George Schuller to present 'Jazz and the American Songbook: The Music of Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen.'

Luna Stage Presents CARNAVAL, Beginning 1/31

Luna Stage will present the world premiere of Nikkole Salter's Carnaval - a play that was inspired by the author's discovery of the underground world of sex tourism and man-cations in Brazil. The play was developed in part through Luna Stage's New Moon Play Reading Series. Luna Stage Associate Artistic Director/Director of Play Development, Cheryl Katz, will direct. Previews for Carnaval begin on January 31st, 2013. The production runs Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm through March 3rd, 2013, with the official press opening on Friday, February 8th. Steven Boyer and Curtis McClarin Set to Appear in DUNKFEST '88 Reading Tonight

Page 73 Productions will present a reading of the new hip hop musical comedy DUNKFEST '88 with book, beats, and rhymes by Matt Schatz and directed by Wendy C. Goldberg. The reading will be Tuesday, December 11 at 7:30pm at 311 West 43rd Street, 8th floor (MTC's Creative Center). The reading is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. Luna Stage presents last season's hit holiday show Mi Casa, Tu Casa with a few new surprises. It features a five-member band and a pair of host storytellers who guide their guests through a lively and engaging line-up of folksongs and fables, seasonal poems, holiday musical favorites, and personal anecdotes of family traditions. Even audience members become part of la fiesta in this unique interactive experience.
