Tony Award-winner Julie White (THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED) is set to host the 2012 Page 73 Spring Benefit on tonight, May 11 at 7:00pm at City Winery (155 Varick Street) in Manhattan, it has been announced by Page 73's Executive Directors Liz Jones and Asher Richelli.
Horse Trade Theater Group will present StrangeDog Theatre Company's production of Ben Clawson's (The Dangers of Electric Lighting at Luna Stage Company) CLAIRE WENT TO FRANCE. The production will be directed by Artem Yatsunov (Bootstraps at Luna Stage Company) and will feature Scott Cagney, Ailee Chan, Tony K. Knotts, Gary Martins, and Shannon Sullivan. The creative team will include Costume Design by Steph Cathro, Lighting Design by Abby Hoke-Brady, Set Design by Jessica Parks, and Scenic Art by Sara Sciabbarrasi.
New Vision Players, Inc, an up-and-coming theater production company located in Paramus, New Jersey, will be producing the Broadway hit NEXT TO NORMAL at the end of this month. NEXT TO NORMAL will serve as the New Vision Players' inaugural performance.
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will launch its 2012 milestone 50th Anniversary season with William Shakespeare's saga of a young prince's reformation and ascent to manhood - Henry IV, Part One. Considered one of Shakespeare's most popular history plays, this rousing tale has not been produced on The Shakespeare Theatre stage in 20 years. Henry IV, Part One begins performances on May 30 and runs through June 24 at the Theatre's Main Stage - the F. M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre. SITTERS STUDIO PRODUCTIONS will produce the NYC premiere of 'HELP WANTED: PIRATES' at the MAGNET THEATRE starting May 19th. The production, with book and lyrics by CHRIS WIDNEY and music by J. SEBASTIAN FABAL, is a new musical for children performed by adults. Passage Theatre Company, Trenton's only professional theater company, will wrap up its 2011-2012 season with Slippery as Sin, running from May 17 to June 3. David Lee White's comic thriller will be directed by Adam Immerwahr - the same team that delivered the 2010 smash hit, Blood: A Comedy.
