Tony Winner Priscilla Lopez Performs at Luna Stage's 20th Anniversary Gala Tonight

Tony and Obie Award winning performer Priscilla Lopez will perform at the company's 20th Anniversary celebration tonight, June 6th. Lopez, who originated the role of 'Diana' in A Chorus Line, performed a one-woman show entitled Class Mothers '68 by Eric H. Weinberger at Luna Stage in 1999 at the company's first space in Montclair.

Horse Trade Presents StrangeDog Theatre's BOOTSTRAPS, 6/13-22

Horse Trade Theater Group and StrangeDog Theatre will present the New York Premiere of BOOTSTRAPS by Ben Clawson, June 13-22 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place). The production will be directed by Artem Yatsuov with Assistant Director Amanda Mae Cohen and will feature Scott Cagney, Rob Hille, Paul Romano, and Sebastian Smeureanu. The creative team will include Lighting Design by Rebecca Bickley, Costume Design by Jason Caballero, Set Design by Peter Martino, and Sound Design by Artem Yatsunov. The production will be Stage Managed by Keila Fontanez-La Salle.

Luna Stage closes its 2012-2013 Jazz Series with a concert featuring critically acclaimed drummer Greg Bufford in a tribute to legendary Philly Joe Jones, Bufford's teacher and mentor. The concert is on Sunday, May 19th at 7pm. In commemoration of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, Luna Stage will present Etty, writer and performer Susan Stein's critically-acclaimed one woman show adapted from the diaries and letters of Etty Hillesum. Etty is directed by theater veteran Austin Pendleton. Etty will be presented for two performances only, today April 7th, at 3pm and 7pm.

THE WHIPPING MAN Opens at Marin Theatre Tonight

Marin Theatre Company, in a co-production with Virginia Stage Company, stages the regional premiere of Matthew Lopez's Civil War drama The Whipping Man in Mill Valley from March 28 to April 21, 2013. MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis directs the production. Featuring popular Bay Area actors L. Peter Callender, Nicholas Pelczar and Tobie Windham, as well as the design team from MTC's 2011 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award nominated production of Tennessee Williams's The Glass Menagerie, this co-production rehearsed and ran at VSC in Norfolk, Virginia, from February 26 to March 17, 2013, before tonight's move to MTC. Opening night at MTC is tonight, April 2.

The Flea Theater Presents UNEXPLORED INTERIOR, 4/8

The Flea Theater has announced a unique collaboration between The Museum of Jewish Heritage, The Public Theater, The Flea Theater, and individuals, Luna Kaufman, Emmanuel Ruranga, M.S. L.P.C., Daniel Neiden and Erika Feldman. In commemoration of the 19th anniversary of the start of the Rwandan genocide, the group will produce a one time only public reading performance of a new play by Jay O. Sanders.

Luna Stage continues its Jazz Series with "R&B Goes Jazz", featuring critically acclaimed saxophonist and flutist Don Braden. Braden, performing with drummer Cecil Brooks III and others, will play his contemporary standards repertoire, featuring Jazz arrangements of songs by Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind and Fire, Roberta Flack and others.
