The Pink Collar Comedy Tour Comes to Luna Stage, 3/14

Stand-Up Comedy Night at Luna Stage, in celebration of Women's History Month, will present The Pink Collar Comedy Tour Thursday, March 14th at 8pm. These New York City based comics travel far and wide to bring their cutting-edge, hilarious stand-up to live audiences all around the country. And now, they're coming to Luna! It will be a very special treat to have all female comedians grace the stage.

CARNAVAL Extends Through 3/17 at Luna Stage

Luna Stage has announced that due to critical acclaim and popular demand, the run of the world premiere of Carnaval by Obie-Award winning playwright Nikkole Salter has been extended through March 17th.

THE LAST CELEBRITY Celebrates Black History Month at Luna Stage Tonight

Luna Stage will present The Last Celebrity in celebration of Black History Month 2013 tonight, February 13 at 8pm. The Last Celebrity is an innovative way to celebrate Black History Month and help remind our youth of the importance of documenting their stories. It promises to both excite and educate audiences of all ages while leaving many memorable and magical moments.

Luna Stage Continues MUSIC IN THE MOONLIGHT With Diane Moser, 3/10

Luna Stage continues the second season of its jazz series, "Music In The Moonlight" with pianist and composer Diane Moser in a tribute to Jaki Byard on Sunday, March 10 @ 7pm. Ms. Moser will be joined by bassist Andy Eulau and drummer Scott Neumann. Tickets are on sale now ($18 in advance, $20 at the door) and can be purchased in person, over the phone at 973-395-5551, or on the Luna Stage website:www.lunastage.org.

Music in The Moonlight Jazz Series Continues with Daniela Schachter Tonight

Luna Stage continues the second season of its jazz series, 'Music In The Moonlight: An Intimate Evening of Jazz', tonight, February 10th at 7pm with a one-night only concert by acclaimed pianist and vocalist Daniela Schachter. The Linden, NJ-based pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger will be joined at Luna Stage by tenor saxophonist Joel Frahm, bassist Steve La Spina and drummer George Schuller to present 'Jazz and the American Songbook: The Music of Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen.'

STAGE TUBE: Nikkole Salter Talks CARNAVAL, Premiering at Luna Stage Tonight

Luna Stage will present the world premiere of Nikkole Salter's Carnaval - a play that was inspired by the author's discovery of the underground world of sex tourism and man-cations in Brazil. The play was developed in part through Luna Stage's New Moon Play Reading Series. Luna Stage Associate Artistic Director/Director of Play Development, Cheryl Katz, will direct. Previews for Carnaval begin tonight, January 31st, 2013. The production runs Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm through March 3rd, 2013, with the official press opening on Friday, February 8th. Anton Floyd, Jaime Lincoln Smith and More to Lead Luna Stage's CARNAVAL

Anton Floyd, Jaime Lincoln Smith and Terrell Wheeler will star in Luna Stage's world premiere of Carnaval, Obie-Award winning playwright Nikkole Salter's provocative new play about the demand side of sexual tourism. Floyd, Smith and Wheeler, three young African-American actors, were attracted to the contemporary nature of the play upon first read, and impressed with Salter's ability to write from a male perspective.

TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, presents the regional premiere of SOMEWHERE, a captivating new play told in exuberant dance as well as drama by playwright Matthew Lopez (The Whipping Man), and featuring Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez (Broadway's A Chorus Line). This compelling tale of a 1960s Puerto Rican family dreaming and dancing its way toward show business will be helmed by director Giovanna Sardelli. SOMEWHERE plays tonight, January 16 - February 10, 2013 (press opening January 19) at TheatreWorks at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Luna Stage Announces New Moon Short Play Festival, 5/6

Luna Stage has announced the first ever New Moon Short Play Festival. The festival will be presented on Monday May 6th, 2013 at 7:30pm. Luna Stage is accepting submissions until February 15th, 2013 (postmark). Playwrights residing in New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania may apply. All selected playwrights must be present for the presentation on May 6th. There will be a talkback with the audience following the presentation of the plays.
