Dallas Theater Center has brought excellence itself to life in its production of Lin Manuel-Miranda's In the Heights.

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award® Recipient Dallas Theater Center presents In the Heights, a family-friendly musical from Hamilton's creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. Directed by James Vasquez at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, In the Heights opens on Sept. 21 and runs through Oct. 20. El Teatro de la Danza Guillermina Bravo celebrará 50 años de vida. Su inauguración, el 19 de septiembre de 1969 con la obra Zaratustra, contó con un elenco estelar dirigido por el controvertido Alejandro Jodorowsky. Inicialmente fue un espacio de preparación para los alumnos de la Academia de la Danza Mexicana, que con el paso de los años se convirtió en el escenario dancístico más importante del país y referente del género contemporáneo. 

DANCE NOW announces the lineup for the 2019 Festival ENCORE! The one-night-only performance will feature the 10 choreographers/companies selected by the DANCE NOW producers for having most successfully met the 2019 DANCE NOW Challenge: to create a clear and complete artistic statement in five minutes or less for the specifics of the stage at Joe's Pub. This year's Challenge winner is Nicole Vaughan-Diaz. As the Challenge winner, Vaughan-Diaz will receive a $1,500 stipend and a weeklong creative residency at DANCE NOW Silo on Kirkland Farm in Bucks County, PA. The ENCORE! program will be hosted by Deborah Lohse (aka TruDee).

Yale Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of GIRLS, after The Bacchae by Euripides, by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, with choreography by Raja Feather Kelley, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, October 4a?"26, 2019, at the University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is Thursday, October 10.

From August 25 to September 2, Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the world premiere of a new translation by Robert Greer of August Strindberg's 'The Father,' directed by Mr. Greer and performed by an ensemble of actors from August Strindberg Rep, who developed the piece in a workshop production last November at Gene Frankel Theatre.
