Dave Malloy, creator of the "intoxicatingly good, rapturous" (Isherwood, NY Times) new musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, will make his Broadway performing debut in the show this spring, stepping into the role of 'Pierre' for 10 performances across May and June 2017.

After six dedicated weeks of fundraising, the brightest stars from Broadway and Off-Broadway's biggest hits will share one-of-a-kind performances at the 28th annual Gypsy of the Year competition on Monday, December 5 (4:30 pm) and Tuesday, December 8 (2 pm). The show is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The understudy for Josh Groban in NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, Stangland took over just two days after opening and is settling in.

Just last night, the American Theatre Wing honored legendary Tony Award-winning actress Cicely Tyson at its annual gala at The Plaza Hotel (Fifth Avenue at Central Park South). More than 25 nominations of outstanding actors, directors, designers and ensembles were announced today by The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA), with winners to be revealed at the 34th Annual Elliot Norton Awards on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 7 PM, at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre.

Among this year's nominees for Outstanding Musical Production by a Large Theater are WAITRESS and NATASHA, PIERRE, AND THE  GREAT COMET OF 1812, both at American Repertory Theatre. Tony winner Jessie Mueller and Denee Benton also each received nods for their respective performances.
