Scotbeef, producers of the famous Galloway's mince, become sponsors of Tony Roper's The Steamie at SSE Hydro this December.

The Steamie is a Scottish theatre classic; an ode to the hard-working women of the 1950's and to a bygone Glasgow. The young Doreen envisions a new future, while Mrs Culfeathers looks back to the past - the play is a snapshot of a society, of a time and a cross section of strong women, all rolled up in Roper's hilarious comedy.

The centrepiece of Tron Theatre's Autumn season will be Gary McNair's adaptation of Ben Jonson's Jacobean farce, The Alchemist, presented by Tron Theatre Company. Well known Scottish TV actor Gregor Fisher will be playing Yer Granny, in the National Theatre of Scotland's new gallus comedy of the same name which tours Scotland in 2015. Also announced as joining the cast are Brian Pettifer, (recently seen in BBC TV's The Musketeers), Barbara Rafferty, (Rab C Nesbitt) and Louise McCarthy (London West End's Mamma Mia!) They will join Jonathan Watson, Paul Riley and Maureen Beattie, also known to audiences for their popular stage, screen and comedy performances.

On March 6th, a new cast--including Helen Hobson, Joanna Monro and Geraldine Fitzgerald--will be welcomed into the West End production of Mamma Mia!
