The Academy of Country Music announced today the nominees for the 54TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, Country Music's Party of the Year®, honoring country music's superstars and hottest emerging talent. Iconic entertainer and sixteen-time ACM Award® winner Reba McEntire will return to host LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.

INDIGO GIRLS Comes to the Warner

The Warner Theatre will welcome the GRAMMY-Award winning band, INDIGO GIRLS, to the Main Stage on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 8 PM. Opening the show is special guest Amythyst Kiah. Twenty years after they began releasing records as the Indigo Girls, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have politely declined the opportunity to slow down with age. With a legacy of releases and countless U.S. and international tours behind them, they have forged their own way in the music business. Selling over 14 million records, they are still going strong. Amy and Emily are the only duo with top 40 titles on the Billboard 200 in the '80s, '90s, '00s and '10s. In 2012, Saliers and Ray embarked on a bold new chapter, collaborating with a pair of orchestrators to prepare larger-than-life arrangements of their songs to perform with symphonies around the country. The duo found an elusive sonic sweet spot with the project, creating a seamless blend of folk, rock, pop, and classical that elevated their songs to new heights without scarifying any of the emotional intimacy and honesty that have defined their music for decades. Now, after more than 50 performances with symphonies across America, the experiences have finally been captured in all its grandeur on the band's stunning new album, 'Indigo Girls Live With The University of Colorado Symphony Orchestra.'

FST Announces Additional Extension of GUITAR GIRLS

In a year of celebrating the achievements of women in country music, CMT today announced that Loretta Lynn will be honored with the “Artist of a Lifetime” award presented by Ram Trucks at this year's all-female “CMT Artists of the Year” event premiering live Wednesday, October 17 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Academy Award winner and “Coal Miner's Daughter” actress Sissy Spacek will bestow the award to Lynn, who joins previous recipients of the honor including Shania Twain (2016), Kenny Rogers (2015), and Merle Haggard (2014).

Anna St. Louis, the Kansas City-bred, LA-based songwriter, released 'The Bells,' the second single from her forthcoming debut album today. 'The Bells' features Kevin Morby on percussion and Kyle Thomas of King Tuff on bass and organ. Stereogum premiered the track today, saying, 'St. Louis' voice is buffeted by prickling guitars and a dusty saunter that make the whole song sound like it came straight out of a spaghetti western.'

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of four Honorees who will receive the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements, and a special Honors distinction for a work of art and its co-creators. Recipients to be honored at the 41st annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and actress Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton-writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire-will receive a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category.

Imagine working in musical theatre, doing what you love with a good friend. Add in some classic and contemporary country music and you have the story behind the story of the musical Honky Tonk Laundry opening July 21 at The Show Palace Dinner Theatre. Millicent Hunnicut and Bridgette Karl star respectively as Lana Mae Hopkins, owner of the Wishy Washy Washateria and employee, Katie Lane Murphy. Both Millicent and Bridgette performed together at Show Palace in The Great American Trailer Park under the talented direction of Matthew Belopavlovich. Just like the characters they play, the actresses bonded and when an opportunity arose to perform the two-women show with Matthew as the director, the two jumped at the chance.
