San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon announces WHAT WE DID FOR LOVE, a gala fundraising evening with special guest, star of NBC's Smash, and Sean Saves the World, Megan Hilty, 6pm, tonight, February 27 at Bimbo's 365 Club, 1025 Columbus Ave, San Francisco. In addition to the 'smashing' talents of Broadway and television star Megan Hilty, the evening will include cocktails, dinner, a brief live auction, and a 'MoonGlow Cabaret' with clarion-voiced chanteuse Klea Blackhurst and other Moon performers. Megan Hilty, was a breakout star of NBC's 'Smash' and starred on Broadway in 'Wicked' and '9 to 5: The Musical.' She currently stars as Liz on NBC's 'Sean Saves The World' with Sean Hayes of 'Will & Grace' fame. She makes her South Florida concert debut when she joins the WinterStage Concert Series at the Broward Center's Parker Playhouse on February 20 at 8:00 PM for one show only - following on the heels of January's sold-out launch of the series with 'Will & Grace' star Megan Mullally. Happy Birthday Carol Channing! She is the recipient of three Tony Awards (including one for lifetime achievement), a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. Channing is best remembered for originating, on Broadway, the musical-comedy roles of bombshell Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and matchmaking widow Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello, Dolly! She also appeared in two New York revivals of Hello, Dolly!, and toured with it extensively throughout the United States. Channing also appeared in a number of movies, The First Traveling Sales Lady (1956) with Ginger Rogers, the cult film Skidoo and Thoroughly Modern Millie, opposite Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore.

Last night, three-time Tony Award-winner Carol Channing joined LGBT icon and Tony Nominee Justin Vivian Bond in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: An Intimate Evening with Carol Channing and Justin Vivian Bond at Town Hall. The evening coincided with the 50th anniversary of Hello Dolly! (January 16, 1964) and was just one week before Carol's 93rd birthday.

Many know Carol Channing for her work on the Broadway stage, but she was also the first-ever solo artist to perform during a Super Bowl Halftime Show. In the video, Channing surprises unsuspecting Bingo players with a spontaneous Halftime performance, as part of Pepsi's 'Get Hyped for Halftime' campaign. Among the Bingo players was Rory O'Conner, who actually attended Super Bowl IV in 1970 when Channing originally performed. Check it out below!
