In honor of Tony Award-winner Carol Channing's birthday, BroadwayWorld brings you a special Broadway flashback! Happy Birthday Carol Channing! She is the recipient of three Tony Awards (including one for lifetime achievement), a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. Channing is best remembered for originating, on Broadway, the musical-comedy roles of bombshell Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and matchmaking widow Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello, Dolly! She also appeared in two New York revivals of Hello, Dolly!, and toured with it extensively throughout the United States. Channing also appeared in a number of movies, The First Traveling Sales Lady (1956) with Ginger Rogers, the cult film Skidoo and Thoroughly Modern Millie, opposite Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore.

First up will be the red-hot star of TV's “Smash” and Broadway's “Wicked,” Megan Hilty on February 7th, followed by Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award nominated superstar Vanessa Williams on April 25.

Megan Hilty and her husband Brian Gallagher welcomed their first child, Viola Philomena, on September 18, and Hilty just took to Twitter to post the first picture of her adorable bundle of joy (the 'bundle' in the photo was a gift from fellow theatre star Eden Espinosa). Megan Hilty, was a breakout star of NBC's "Smash" and starred on Broadway in "Wicked" and "9 to 5: The Musical." She most recently starred as Liz on NBC's "Sean Saves The World" with Sean Hayes of "Will & Grace" fame. She returns to the original Broadway @ The Art House series this month by popular demand after her sold-out debut run at the theater last summer. She will be joined by husband and fellow Broadway star Brian Gallagher on guitar August 13, 14, 15 & 18, and will be joined by series host and SiriusXM star Seth Rudetsky at piano on August 16 & 17.
