Long Wharf Theatre, In Association With The McCarter Theater Center, Presents CROWNS

Long Wharf Theatre, in association with the McCarter Theater Center, presents the 15TH anniversary production of Crowns, written and directed by Regina Taylor. Performances take place April 18 through May 13, 2018 on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Mainstage. Tickets start at $30.

Fifteen years after its world premiere at McCarter Theatre Center, Crowns is returning. When Yolanda's brother is killed on the streets of Chicago, the shaken teenager is sent to live with her grandmother in South Carolina, where she embarks on a journey toward discovering her place in the world, and in her family. Produced in association with Long Wharf Theatre, Crowns runs March 13 - April 1 in McCarter's Matthews Theatre.

Pocket Universe Presents THE MAID'S TRAGEDY At Access Theatre

Pocket Universe, producer of last summer's acclaimed Julius Caesar set in an all-girls high school, has announced a new production of Francis Beaumont & John Fletcher's THE MAID'S TRAGEDY, set in present-day Hollywood. Conceived by Alyssa May Gold (Julius Caesar, Brilliant Traces) and directed by Lucy Gram, it will play from June 13-30, 2018 at the Access Theater (380 Broadway) in TriBeCa.  Tickets are on-sale now here.

Geffen Playhouse Announces Cast for SIGNIFICANT OTHER

The Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its production of Joshua Harmon's (Bad Jews) critically-acclaimed hit play, Significant Other, directed by Stephen Brackett. The cast features Melanie Field (Paramount Network's Heathers) as Laura, Vella Lovell (CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Vanessa, Preston Martin as Zach/Evan/Roger, Keilly McQuail (Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Kiki, John Garet Stoker (CBS's Code Black) as Will/Conrad/Tony, Concetta Tomei (Deep Impact) as Helene Berman and Will Von Vogt as Jordan Berman.

Darko Tresnjak To Step Down As Artistic Director of Hartford Stage in June 2019

Darko Tresnjak will step down as Hartford Stage's Artistic Director at the conclusion of the 2018-19 season. Tresnjak has served as the Tony Award-winning theatre's artistic leader since 2011. A national search will be conducted to find his replacement.

PlayFest Santa Barbara Festival Announces 2018 Events

PlayFest Santa Barbara, in partnership with the Santa Barbara Public Library, and with the support of a Community Arts Grant from the City of Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture, presents the Sixth Annual Festival of New Plays. The staged reading of Steve Karp's Honoree Play, REUNION, will take place in the Santa Barbara Central Library on March 10 at 7p.m. REUNION was selected as the 2018 Honoree play following an international competition. E. Bonnie Lewis and Ken Gilbert of DramaDogs will perform the roles of He and She. Maggie Mixsell of Speaking of Stories, will narrate. Anna Jensen, former Ensemble Theatre dramaturge and current co-host of Theatrixsb podcast, will moderate a post reading talkback between the audience and the playwright. The reading is free.
