Emmy-Winning Stage and Screen Actress Olivia Cole Dies

Deadline has reported that Emmy-winning actress Olivia Cole, best known for her role in Roots, died at her home on January 19. She was 75. The New York Times reported that her cause of death was a heart attack, according to Linda Cooper, who is handling Cole's remains.

Long Wharf Theatre Artistic Director Accused of Sexual Misconduct

The New York Times is reporting that Gordon Edelstein, artistic director of the Long Wharf Theater, has been placed on administrative leave after several former employees and collaborators of the company have come forward with claims of sexual misconduct.

Simon Levy directs for aJanuary 20 opening at the Fountain Theatre, where performances continue through March 25. The Fountain celebrates the novel's 50th anniversary (last April) with the West Coast premiere of Posner's new, streamlined version.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces a free post-performance discussion moderated by Pulitzer Prize-winning theatre critic and Negroland: A Memoir author Margo Jefferson in connection with TFANA's world premiere production of Adrienne Kennedy's He Brought Her Heart Back in a Box. The talk, which begins at 8.30 PM is open to all and features director Charlotte Braithwaite and playwrights Lydia Diamond and Jackie Sibblies Drury, follows the January 20 performance of Kennedy's first new play in a decade, which begins at 7:30 that evening, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY 11217). CRT Announces Casting For THE CRUCIBLE

The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum is pleased to announce the cast of their upcoming production of Accomplice. The play will be directed by Bickford Theatre Producing Artistic Director Eric Hafen. Accomplice will be performed from January 25 February 4, 2018. It is written by Rupert Holmes and is a winner of the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Award.
