The MITTEN Lab Partners with Parallel 45 Theatre and Theatre Nova

The MITTEN Lab (A Michigan Incubator for Theatre Talent Emerging Now), led by co-founders Katherine M. Carter and Rachel Sussman, has announced partnerships with Michigan theater companies Parallel 45 Theatre in Traverse City and Theatre Nova in Ann Arbor.

Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Opens 2016-17 Season on October 27 at Carnegie Hall

Orpheus Chamber Orchestra launches its 44th season with a concert at Carnegie Hall in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage on Thursday, October 27 at 8:00 p.m. Orpheus is joined by award-winning pianist Christian Zacharias-widely known for his interpretations and recordings of Beethoven's works-for Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1.

Sketch Theater's inaugural work, COOKIE, is a performance of dance, drama, digital sound, and visual art using projection. Collaborators Daniel Ching, Marcus Crawford Guy, Daevid Mendivil, and Colin Fuller have been challenged to bring their strengths to the table while opening their field of creative vision to alternative forms of expression.

ArtsRock to Appoint Elliott Forrest as New Executive Director

The Board of ArtsRock has announced that Elliott Forrest, Artistic Director of the organization from its inception in 2008 will become the non-profit's first Executive Director starting July 1, 2016. Forrest will remain as Artistic Director in addition to his new role for ArtsRock who served over 2,000 audience members during their 2015-2016 Winter/Spring Season. Offering residents in and around Rockland County access to professional arts and multi-cultural programs all at reasonable ticket prices.

The Adelphi Orchestra to Welcome Guest Soloist Christine Kwak for Season Finale Concert at Merkin Concert Hall, 6/9

?The Adelphi Orchestra's concludes its 2015-16 season with its New York City Concert Series' finale 'Celebrating a Grand Legacy', Thursday June 9th at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Music Center. The performance will include Mendelssohn's Overture to the Hebrides, Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C Minor and Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin in D Major, with featured violin soloist Christine Kwak under the baton of conductor Jason C. Tramm.

Adelphi Orchestra's New York City Concert Series to Continue at Merkin Concert Hall, 6/9

Adelphi Orchestra's New York City Concert Series continues with the second of two concerts, Thursday June 9th at Merkin Concert Hall the Kaufman Music Center. 'Celebrating a Grand Legacy' will feature the Adelphi Orchestra and guest violin soloist Christine Kwak Kim, in Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin in D Major, with Mendelssohn's Overture to the Hebrides and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C Minor under the baton of conductor and Artistic Advisor Jason C. Tramm.

Grammy Nominee Tara Helen O'Connor & Alan Kay to Teach Master Classes at Hoff-Barthelson

Hoff-Barthelson Music School's 2015-2016 Master Class Series continues with clarinetist Alan Kay on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., at Hoff-Barthelson Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale.  Mr. Kay will coach Hoff-Barthelson Music School clarinet students in the seventh of nine Master Classes to be given during the 2015-2016 season. The public is invited to attend and observe the Master Class free of charge.

Milanov Conducts Free HAPPY HOUR CONCERT Today

Now in its third year, Happy Hour concerts offer free, informal, after-work concerts performed by the Columbus Symphony, preceded by complimentary appetizers, a DJ in the theatre lobby, and a cash bar. Conducted by the CSO's new Music Director Rossen Milanov, the first Happy Hour concert of the 2015-16 season will be at the Ohio Theatre today, October 29, and will be in partnership with Earshot, The National Orchestral Composition Discovery Network, to present a live Composers' Competition. The CSO will perform four new music compositions from four emerging composers, and ask the audience to vote for their favorite. A professional jury will select an official winner of the competition.
