The Kitchen Theatre Company to Stage THE CHINESE LADY

The Kitchen Theatre Company will continue its 2021-2022 season with Lloyd Suh's The Chinese Lady, a poetic and subversively comedic tale that gives voice to our country's hidden history. Generously sponsored by WRFI, Tompkins Trust Company, CSP Management, OurBus, Don Spector and Stacia Zabusky and WRVO Public Media, The Chinese Lady will run from Tuesday, March 22 through Sunday, April 10 and will offer free childcare on Sunday, April 10 and Pay What You Want rush tickets throughout the duration of the run.

Playwrights Horizons Launches New Literary Magazine ALMANAC

Playwrights Horizons has launched a new literary magazine, Almanac. Established at a time of pandemic and protest, Almanac is a new kind of publication-one in which a theater and the artists who comprise it come together to take stock of contemporary American politics, culture, and playwriting.

The Kitchen Extends MATT & BEN

Due to popular demand, Kitchen Theatre Company is extending the run of the final play of the season, Matt & Ben, by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers. The play will now run through June 17, with five added performances

Two River Theater Presents DANCING AT LUGHNASA Directed By Jessica Stone

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the complete cast and creative team for its production of Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa, winner of the 1992 Tony Award for Best Play. Dancing at Lughnasa will be directed by Jessica Stone, who previously directed acclaimed productions of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Absurd Person Singular at Two River Theater.

MERRY CRAFTSMAS to Premiere Three Short Plays at Ensemble Studio Theatre

Merry Craftsmas, a new event featuring three world- premiere short plays by Ryan Dowler (Stiff), Krista Knight (Primal Play), and Mara Nelson-Greenberg (Youngblood/Clubbed Thumb's Early Career Writer's Group), will play on Sunday, December 18 at 3pm at Ensemble Studio Theatre.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Alan Ayckbourn's science fiction comedy Communicating Doors. Eleven plays penned by Alan Ayckbourn have been produced by the Alley, including the American premiere of Henceforward, directed by Ayckbourn, in 1987 and House & Garden in 2002. Alan Ayckbourn has been inducted into the American Theatre's Hall of Fame, received the 2010 Critics' Circle Award for Services to the Arts, became the first British playwright to receive both Olivier and Tony Special Lifetime Achievement Awards and was knighted in 1997 for services to the theatre.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU)'s TRU 2013 Combined Audition Event, produced by Jaye Maynard and Michelle Slonim, and presented in association with Actors Access, Actors Connection, Modernage/HeadshotRepros.com, People's Improv Theater (The PIT), The Players Theatre, Ripley Grier Studios, Studio 7 Photography, TheaterMania, Wag That Reel and Weist-Barron Studios, will host auditions today and Sunday, April 6-7, 2013 from 10am-6pm at People's Improv Theater (The PIT), 123 East 24th Street, NYC.

TRU to Host 2013 COMBINED AUDITION EVENT, 4/6-7

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces that submissions are open for the TRU 2013 Combined Audition Event, produced by Jaye Maynard and Michelle Slonim, and presented in association with Actors Access, Actors Connection, Modernage/HeadshotRepros.com, People's Improv Theater (The PIT), The Players Theatre, Ripley Grier Studios, Studio 7 Photography, TheaterMania, Wag That Reel and Weist-Barron Studios. Auditions will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, 2013 from 10am-6pm at People's Improv Theater (The PIT), 123 East 24th Street, NYC. Early bird registration is $50 ($40 for AEA and TRU members) before March 5. From March 6 to registration closing on March 25, the fee is $75 ($65 for AEA and TRU members).
