Paper Mill Playhouse has announced a new Master Class series beginning this September. On select Mondays evenings, Broadway artists and industry professionals will lead master classes for children between the ages of 9 and 17.

(Millburn, NJ) June 2, 2015 - As one of the nation's leading regional theaters and producing partners for Broadway, Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director) has a well-earned reputation for launching both performers and shows for the Great White Way. Since their inception in 1996, the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre have ignited the careers of many notable performers, all of whom attended high school in New Jersey. Among the early nominees and winners are Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables), Tony Award winners Laura Benanti (Gypsy) and Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon), Tony nominee Rob McClure (Chaplin), and UK Olivier Award nominee Jared Gertner (The Book of Mormon - West End) The 2015 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 2, at 7:30pm, featuring presenters from Broadway and beyond. Union High School won the coveted title of Outstanding Overall Production and left Paper Mill Playhouse with a total of nine Rising Star Awards.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the launch of a new education service for high school students whose aim it is to study theater or musical theater in college. Paper Mill Prep is a college discovery and audition coaching program. "Paper Mill has an extensive statewide education and outreach effort that already has us working closely with the strongest young talent in New Jersey, and this extension of our Conservatory professional training program and Rising Star Awards will allow us to support these students as they begin the process of looking at college theater programs." shared Director of Education, Lisa Cooney. "Our goal is to help them determine and gain admission to the college programs that benefits them the most."
Paper Mill Playhouse to Host Auditions for Broadway Show Choir in August

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced open auditions for the award-winning Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir. The Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir is a tuition-free, audition based, performance show choir that stems from Paper Mill Playhouse's award-winning Arts Education and Outreach programs. The choir consists of 40 to 50 singer/dancers between the ages of 16 and 22. Auditions for this special ensemble will take place at Paper Mill Playhouse, 22 Brookside Drive in Millburn, NJ on the evenings of Sunday, August 24th; Monday, August 25th and Wednesday, August 27th by appointment only. The 2014 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:30pm with an audience of over 1,200. Princeton Day School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical for their production of Urinetown. A total of 29 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes.
