Casting is announced today for Music Theatre Wichita 46th Season, 'Hollywood to Broadway,' featuring five lavish stage musicals inspired by films, including Thoroughly Modern Millie, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Hairspray, and the Kansas premieres of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Disney's Newsies.  

Votes are cast; polls are closed; and results have been tabulated! This was our biggest year yet! Omigod you guys! Elle Woods is bringing pink and lots of it to the Fallon Stage in Legally Blonde directed by Tom Ossowski. Based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the hit Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture, sorority girl Elle Woods takes on Harvard Law School in an attempt to win back the love of her life. There, she must use her brains and beauty to defend famous fitness instructor Brooke Wyndham, who has been accused of murder. Along the way she discovers that true love only finds us when we learn to truly love ourselves. Featuring a book by Heather Hach with music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, Legally Blonde is sure to "bend and snap" its way into the hearts of audiences!

The School of Theatre is bringing the beloved classic A Chorus Line to the stage of the Fallon Theatre October 16-25. This nine-time Tony Award®-winning show delves into the dreams and fears of the characters, revealing what they have done and would do for love. A Chorus Line features a stunning book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, with music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. Under the direction of MFA Directing Candidate Jenna Tamisiea, A Chorus Line is sure to delight audiences young and old.

The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) is pleased to announce that 62 finalists selected from tens of thousands of students will compete for the coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress, scholarships and other honors at an event on Broadway to be hosted by the Tony Award-nominated stars of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, Laura Osnes (Cinderella) and Santino Fontana (the Prince). The fifth annual performance showcase featuring dynamic ensemble and solo performances exclusively from the musical theater cannon will take place on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 7:30pm at the Minskoff Theatre (200 W. 45th St).
