Yesterday, June 14, the Apollo Theater hosted the 'Spring Benefit Concert & Awards Ceremony' in New York City, NY. The night's host was comedian Jamie Foxx. This year will feature the induction of two royal new honorees into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame: the undisputed King of Pop Michael Jackson, and the one and only Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Golden Girl and former Broadway star Rue McClanahan, has sadly passed away at 1am today, June 3rd at the age of 76 according to her manager. McClanahan, who suffered a stroke in January, is said to have had another massive stroke early this morning.

Last night, May 4, the Board of Directors of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs presented the 2010 MAC Awards at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in Times Square. The awards ceremony and show, produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, was hosted by Sharon McNight. Tracy Stark musical directed.
