Theatre By The Sea owner and producer Bill Hanney, Producing Artistic Director Amiee Turner and Managing Producer Joel Kipper are proud to announce the opening of the Tony Award® winning family classic Hello, Dolly! on June 23.

This spectacular musical follows Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi on her quest to match three young men with the perfect spouse. Full of glorious dancing and classic tunes, this vibrant testament to the human spirit and joy of living, not only recalls the 1890s era, in which this Jerry Herman musical is set, but also the Golden Age of Broadway. Music includes "Hello, Dolly," "Before the Parade Passes By," and "Put On Your Sunday Clothes," which was featured in the Disney movie Wall-e.

Ocean State Theatre Company is thrilled to welcome Broadway performer Cady Huffman, who won the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Ulla in the original Broadway production of The Producers. Ms. Huffman will make her Theatre By The Sea debut in the starring role of Dolly Levi. She will be joined by Al Bundonis, who starred as Laurence in last season's award winning production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, who will portray the role of Horace Vandergelder. Kevin P. Hill, who appeared in productions of Hello, Dolly! with Carol Channing, Leslie Uggams and Michele Lee, will direct and choreograph, with Bob Bray, who was a chorus boy on stage at Theatre By the Sea in 1987, returning as music director. Local performers include Rebecca Barko of New Haven, Ct., who portrayed Mrs. Darling in last season's production of Peter Pan and native Rhode Islander Glenn Zienowicz, who is the director of the drama program at Exeter-West Greenwich High School.

Audiences are invited to enhance their theatre experience by dining in the casual, contemporary and creative atmosphere of Bistro by the Sea, just a short stroll down the arbor walk adjacent to the theatre. Following performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, theatergoers can enjoy fun, food and drinks at the popular Late Night Cabaret. Reservations are strongly recommended for dinner and the cabaret and can be made by calling (401) 789-3030 after 3:00 pm. Before or after the meal theatergoers can enjoy the lush seaside gardens maintained by Dana Designs, which contain over 300 varieties of perennials, grasses, shrubs and climbing plants, offering a magical environment for flower lovers of all ages.
