Under the baton of guest conductor Christian Reif, this event will include a performance of Pulitzer Prize-nominated composer Michael Gilbertson's Graffiti: Concerto for Chamber Orchestra by the Symphony, as well as Mozart's Symphony No. 39, and the Overture to La Clemenza di Tito. Also on the program, rising-star cellist Thomas Mesa performs Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme. Due to a burst pipe and water damage at Miller Chapel on the Princeton Theological Seminary campus, the Dryden Ensemble announces new locations for its February and March events in Princeton. They will present lutenist Daniel Swenberg in a free concert entitled a?oeThree Centuries of Lutesa?? on Sunday, February 16 at 3:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Church, located on 50 Cherry Hill Road off Hwy. 206 in Princeton, New Jersey. Admission is free. On March 13th and 14th, the ensemble presents their largest undertaking to date: a production of Bach's St. John Passion at All Saints' Church, located at 16 All Saints Road in Princeton. Both venues have plenty of parking. Tickets for the St. John Passion are $45 for general admission and $10 to students with an ID. Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced that submissions are now open for their 10th annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes. Beginning today, six brand new plays, inspired by this year's theme: 'Private Lives,' will be selected through an open submission process to premiere alongside commissions from Jeremy O. Harris (Slave Play, Daddy) and Theresa Rebeck (Bernhardt/Hamlet, Seminar). Submissions are open through March 30th, 2020.
Soka Performing Arts Center presents Pacific Symphony Chamber Orchestra with violinist Elissa Lee Koljonen on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 3pm. The program includes Ticheli's There Will Be Rest, a piece of fragile beauty and quiet dignity, and Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61, considered to be his most lyrical work, and the only concerto he wrote for one of the most popular instruments of his day: the violin.
The Washington Stage Guild continues its season of great writers with the Washington premiere of Bloomsday by Steven Dietz. This delicate, time-bending romance is set in James Joyce's Dublin on June 16th, the date on which Joyce's Ulysses is set. Robert returns to that city 35 years after meeting Caithleen on a walking tour of Joyce's Dublin. He and Cait meet again and revisit their youthful relationship, amid the echoes of Joyce's masterwork, and the missed connections of that earlier time in their lives. Helen Hayes Award winning Kasi Campbell will direct. A post-show discussion will follow the Sunday matinee on February 2nd, James Joyce's birthday.

Extracurricular is a horror film from production house September 17 Studio and director Ray Xue (Transcendent). The film's script was written by Matthew Abrams and Padgett Arango. Together, these filmmakers have created a unique horror film, one which brings several high-school students together for a common bloody purpose. Reminiscent of the Leopold and Loeb killers, Extracurricular's story involves a murder-for-fun club, leading to one terrifying night. Starring Keenan Tracey (Polaroid), Brittany Raymond (“Dare Me”), Spencer Macpherson (Brotherhood), Brittany Teo and Luke Goss, Samuel Goldwyn Films will release this tightly wound thriller later this month.
American Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth with a concert that investigates how his music inspired others on Friday January 31, 8 pm at Carnegie Hall. From Liszt's fantasia on the 'Turkish March' to Spohr's Beethovenesque scherzo and Reger's variations on a bagatelle theme by Beethoven, the program also celebrates the 100th anniversary of an often-overlooked 20th-century master, Galina Ustvolskaya. Her Piano Concerto is considered her first composition and demands the listener's ear with a pounding rhythmic motif that is repeated by the piano until the closing chord.

American Symphony Orchestra comes to Alice Tully Hall for the holiday season with a concert titled Sons of Bach on Thursday, December 19 at 8 PM. The program will offer rarely-performed works by four of J.S. Bach's sons, showcasing the compositional mastery the young men learned from their father, and also revealing how each was able to develop his own unique style.

William Henry Curry, former conductor for the NC Symphony, will be giving a post-show lecture after Burning Coal's performance of Camelot on Sunday, December 15th at 2 pm. Curry is an expert on musical theatre history and will be discussing Camelot's prominent themes as well as the background of Lerner and Lowe's classic musical.
International violinist sensation, Gil Shaham, will perform at Music Hall November 8 and 9 with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) under Music Director Louis Langrée in Petrouchka + Tchaikovsky.
