The National Comedy Center is proud to announce the acquisition of an expansive archive chronicling the nine-decade career of pioneering comedienne Rose Marie, who passed away at the age of 94 in December 2017.

King of Cuba, a new comedy by award-winning writer Cristina Garcia, opens with a press night on Saturday, July 21, and runs through August 19 (previews July 19 & 20) at the historic Berkeley City Club. The summer adventure of the Central Works 2018 season King of Cuba, is developed by Ms. Garcia in the Central Works Writers Workshop featuring the lesbian-gender-bending comedian Marga Gomez, and the Grammy-winning "bongocero" Carlos Caro. All are Cubanx celebrities living in the Bay Area. Directed by Gary Graves, the full cast includes Marco Aponte, Leticia Duarte, Elena Garrity, Marga Gomez*, Ben Ortega and Steve Ortiz.(*SAG)

Theatre 68 is once again, extending Critics Choice production of "I AM NOT A COMEDIAN...I'M LENNY BRUCE" - Directed by Joe Mantegna, the acclaimed show stars Ronnie Marmo as Lenny Bruce, has been such a hit, the Producers have once again extended the production at Theatre 68 through May 13th, 2018. Abingdon Theatre Company (Tony Speciale, Artistic Director; Denise Dickens, Producing Director) continues its 2017-2018 Ghostlight Reading Series this month with a provocative new work inspired by the legacy of legendary comic Lenny Bruce: Buyer Beware, a new play by Michael Weller, will receive a reading presentation Monday March 26 at 7PM at The DR2 Theatre, 101 E. 15th Street. New York City based theatre podcast, Your Program Is Your Ticket, presents a special series of theatre interviews with artists from the 2018 Frigid Festival in New York. Award-winning playwright and podcast creator, Sean Chandler, hosts the interviews which include playwrights, directors, and actors, and features local, national, and Canadian artists.
