Bright Eyes Productions - MISSION STATEMENT

The primary mission of Bright Eyes Productions is to present the works of award winning playwrights drawn from the list of prize-winning American plays: e.g. Obie winners (59 years) or Tony winners (67 years) or Drama Desk winners (59 years) or Pulitzer Prize winners for drama (97 years) .... with the occasional (overlooked) new play our play-selection committee feels strongly about.

This distinguishes us from other theatre groups, most of whom reverse this ratio, focusing on producing new plays with an occasional production from the American canon.

Bright Eyes Productions (BEP) wants to bring back treasures from the vast store of superb American plays honored in their time, but now all but vanished We're not after museum reconstructions of once-famous texts. We want these works to be reborn again, living scenes as if for the first time. This is our mission as theatre artists.
