Actors Theatre of Louisville announces the lineup for the 43rd Humana Festival of New American Plays. A cultural highlight for theatre lovers, artists and producers across the country, the Humana Festival runs March 1 through April 7, 2019 in Louisville.

While Broadway struggles to find ways to support new work that isn't star-studded or based on an existing property, off-Broadway theatres are embracing new voices at every turn. Among the non-profits on a mission is WP Theater, the oldest American theater company dedicated to the work of women, trans, and non-binary artists. Its producing artistic director, Lisa McNulty, is exactly the kind of leader the community needs: dedicated, open, and passionate about getting the voices heard that need to be heard.

Artists at Play's production of Two Mile Hollow by Leah Nanako Winkler will be extending due to popular demand. The story of the very White Donnelly family is told with an all-Asian American cast and presented by Artists at Play (AAP) as part of a series of world premieres across the country, each receiving much critical acclaim. Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) along with EST's Youngblood announce new EST/Youngblood members for the 2018-2019 season.

One of the theater world's most prestigious playwriting prizes, the Yale Drama Series Prize, was given to Leah Nanako Winkler for her play God Said This. The 2018 award recipient was chosen by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar. The winning play received a private staged reading at Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater on October 30, 2018.

The Actors Fund and Playwrights Horizons announced today that New York City playwright Julia Jarcho is the 2018 recipient of "The Mark O'Donnell Prize", an annual prize presented to an emerging theater artist in recognition of her or his talent and promise.

Primary Stages announced today that its 2018 Gala will take place on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 6:30 pm.
