Playwrights Festival NOW AFRICA Reveals Full Lineup

In cooperation with the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Center for Art & Public Policy, the Tisch Institute of Performing Arts at NYU, the Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue at NYU (Anna Deavere Smith, Founding Director), and Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre, NOW AFRICA - a group of New York based African writers, actors, producers and community activists - will present its second annual playwrights festival, conceived to showcase and raise awareness of dramatic works by African writers.   

BRIC and Veritgo Theater to Present SHOPTALK: QUEERING THEATER

Shoptalk: Queering Theater, a co-presentation of Vertigo Theater Company and BRIC, is slated for Monday, October 3, 2016 at 7:30pm. Featuring guest panelists: Adam Bock, Will Davis, Donnetta Lavinia Grays, and Carmelita Tropicana.

MEN ON BOATS, the critically-acclaimed comedy which premiered at Clubbed Thumb's 2015 Summerworks Festival, returns this summer in a co-production by Clubbed Thumb and Playwrights Horizons. Written by Jaclyn Backhaus and directed by American Theater Company Artistic Director Will Davis, MEN ON BOATS moves uptown to Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street) for a four-week limited engagement now through Sunday, August 14. Sylvia Milo's award-winning THE OTHER MOZART, directed by Isaac James Byrne, is the true, untold story of Nannerl Mozart, the sister of Amadeus -- a prodigy, keyboard virtuoso and composer, who performed throughout Europe with her brother to equal acclaim, but her work and her story faded away, lost to history. Due to popular demand, THE OTHER MOZART will continue its limited engagement, with the rotating cast of Sylvia Milo and Samantha Hoefer, at Off-Broadway's The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal Street, NYC -- Third floor - no elevator) through Monday, January 18.

Samantha Hoefer to Share Lead Role in THE OTHER MOZART Off-Broadway, Starting 10/24
