New York's hottest composers have gotten into bed with lyricist Alex Rubin for her premiere concert, Lyric Tramp: The Songs of Alex Rubin. The concert, which will feature Alex Rubin's lyrics, paired with the music of 8 different composers, will take place on Monday, December 16, 2013 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 W. 42 St, New York, NY).

It seems everything is coming up Jinkx lately. What with winning "RuPaul's Drag Race", a sold out run of his "Vaudevillians" show in New York, and his award winning performance of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" here in Seattle (click here for my review of last January's production), Jerick Hoffer (a.k.a. Jinkx Monsoon) has a lot to crow about. And now with three upcoming shows in December (including a remount of the aforementioned "Hedwig"), it seems Jinkx is taking over the Holidays as well. I recently had a conversation with Jerick in between his many rehearsals to see how his whirlwind life has been going since the win.

Xander Green, young musical theatre composer and student of Marsha Norman (The Secret Garden, The Color Purple), Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years) and Grammy-award winning Herschel Garfein, will receive a debut concert for his solo work at the Laurie Beechman Theatre Tues., Dec. 3 at 7:00 pm.

So now it's time for all you cabaret performers and fans to vote for the best singers, musicians, songs, and shows of the year. The Broadway Ballyhoo, now in its sixth month at The Laurie Beechman Theater, will welcome TONY DESARE, the multi-talented singer/pianist/songwriter who has starred in nightclubs all over the world. Also starring this week at the Ballyhoo: THE ANDERSON TWINS who are bringing a new show, Le Jazz Hot! to 59E59 Theaters for the holiday season. DEBORAH TRANELLI, currently starring at Stage 72 in On The Record, has had a remarkable career that spans TV (Dallas) musical theater, concerts and nightclubs.
