New musical theatre is often showcased in fringe venues to test the water and see if the show could have success on a larger platform. Water Babies, however, has its first outing on the stage of one of the largest producing houses in the country, the Curve in Leicester. The production values are extremely high and it is evident that there is a lot of belief in this project. Judging by what I witnessed last night, this production absolutely needs and deserves a future.

Richard E Grant will appear 'as live' on stage interacting with the real actors in a never seen before 3D hologram effect - a first for a theatrical production. Using a combination of cutting edge technology and traditional theatre illusion this effect allows live actors to perform alongside filmed sequences.

WestEndFest is back for its first concert of 2014 on 2 March at The Actors Church in Covent Garden. It was founded two years ago by West-End theatre actress Sabrina Aloueche and Parnell Page, and has since become a hugely popular bi-annual celebration combining dance, comedy, songs and raising money for charity.

Lauren Samuels joins Louise Dearman in the world premiere of a brand new musical inspired by Charles Kingsley's classic novel, The Water Babies. Hinckley-born actress Lauren Samuels returns to Curve where she made her professional stage debut. A finalist in Andrew Lloyd's Webber search for Dorothy - Over the Rainbow, her career has since flourished to the West End and beyond.

London-based KiwiFruits Productions continues their sell-out season of exclusive concerts, returning to the St James Theatre with 'SONDHEIM: Women' celebrating over five decades of the great anthems of Broadway composer and lyricist, the incomparable Stephen Sondheim.

According to Brian May's website Brian's Soapbox, he has given the go-ahead for a US tour of We Will Rock You, with a stop in New York City, possibly on Broadway. The show is already set for a world tour, beginning in the UK, this year.

Having recently celebrated its 10th birthday, and about to hit its 4,000th performance which is reached September 20, Queen and Ben Elton's West End smash show "We Will Rock You" today announces new cast members in the lead roles of Galileo and Scaramouche to join the show from October 8.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mercury Musical Developments, performers including Michael Xavier, Janie Dee, Claire Moore, Hayley Gallivan, Maria Friedman, Danielle Hope, Alison Jiear, Haydn Gwynne, Sally Anne Triplett, David Bedella, Tam Mutu, Paul Kaye, Stuart Matthew Price, Lucy May Barker, Madalena Alberto and Jenna Russell will feature at a gala concert on October 14 at the Novello Theatre.

The In-Between is a new fantasy musical written entirely by Laura Tisdall, an up and coming musical theatre writer. The show is a fully written, two act production which is yet to receive any commercial backing. Therefore this original concept album is great publicity to showcase Tisdall's work, and judging by what I have heard, she ought be snapped up immediately. All of the orchestrations, original instrumental programming, recording, mixing, lyrics and book have been done by Tisdall which is no mean feat! This is one talented lady.

Simon Greiff (of SimG Productions), in association with 'Live At The Hippodrome', is very proud to present an exciting, intimate evening of live music celebrating the glorious songs of American composers Scott Evan Davis, Georgia Stitt and Michael Patrick Walker - together described in The Huffington Post as 'today's must-know songwriters'.

The concept of new musical The In-Between, featuring nine leading West End stars, was released on June 23, 2012.
