Ixion Ensemble announces its final show of the 2018-2019 season, Hope, a collection of eight one-act plays. Hope will be performed at the Robin Theatre, 1105 S. Six directors and 30 actors from the Chicago theatre community will collaborate to create staged readings of six new feminist plays in the Artemisia Fall Festival 2018, to be performed September 24-26 and October 1-3 at The Edge Theater at 5451 N. Broadway. Artemisia Founding Artistic Director Julie Proudfoot and Literary Manager Sharai Bohannon have curated the festival from submissions solicited from writers, agents and literary managers across the US with whom the company has had working professional relationships. One play from the six to be performed will be chosen for further development by Artemisia Artistic Director Proudfoot, who will work closely with the playwright over the next two years to develop their feminist story for a full production in Chicago.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 9-14, 2018 in multiple locations throughout the Center. GALILEO will be produced at Undermain's home in Deep Ellum - 3200 Main St. with company member Bruce DuBose in the title role. DuBose is a recipient of Best Actor awards from the Dallas Critics Forum, D Magazine and the Dallas Observer. Directed by Undermain's Artistic Director, Katherine Owens, opening night will be Today, February 11th with a curtain time of 7:30 pm. Preview performances will be on February 8th, 9th, and 10th at 7:30 pm. All preview performances are only $15. All evening show times are 7:30 pm with two Sunday matinee performances at 2:00 pm on February 19th and March 5th. The production will run through March 5th.

With a total submission tally of close to 170 plays and musicals, The Bridge Initiative has announced 40 plays as semifinalists for this year's new work contest. The semifinalists hail from as far away as Australia, as well as more than ten states, with four playwrights local to Arizona.
